Re: YEAR 15 DISCUSSION- 2022-2023
You'll understand when we play Breezy. You'll beat me 3/5 times at least and I do nothing special but then all of a sudden I'm still hanging around in the end. No one can believe when they lose to me and I'm pretty sure I'm an underdog every user game lol

Re: YEAR 15 DISCUSSION- 2022-2023
I was trying to not bring that up like JE... haha I still want this season to be done. My enjoyment for the year comes from recruiting and I'm just ho-hum on my small class.

Re: YEAR 15 DISCUSSION- 2022-2023
#2 Clemson vs #3 Miami
ACC Championship
Miami looked outmatched from the start. The opening possession the Canes managed to move the ball down field but struggled to find any real rhythm, the drive ended in what would be 1 of 4 interceptions thrown by Miami Soph Stephen Harris. The Canes defensively had numerous opportunities to return the favor but dropped every interception opportunity. Clemson looked solid on offense but it was their 3rd down conversions that really stood out, regardless of what the stat actually was. The made big plays whenever it looked like Miami's defense was about to get off the field. Their tds came at very clutch times as well.
Trailing 21-3 at the half, Miami knew that 1 td put them right back in the game and any momentum could turn the whole game around, however Clemson never gave Miami any real momentum. Clemson scored first in the second half with a fg giving them a 24-3 lead but Miami answered with a quick assertive td giving them hope. Down 24-10 Miami's defense got stops but really needed to force a turnover because they were fighting the clock as much as they were Clemson.
In the 4th Miami made their way down the field but an interception in the redzone deflated the little momentum that they gained. Miami would hold again and this time finish the drive with a td and 2:41 on the clock. With all 3 timeouts remaining Miami had time if they could hold. After a sack and complete pass to make it 3rd and 1 Miami brought the house but Clemson picked up 3 for the 1st down. Miami had to burn a 2nd timeout and pray for a miracle. Back to back runs were blown up in the back field making it 3rd and 18 with 1:12 on the clock. Clemson dials up a pass, Miami is in man to man coverage with safety help over the top, Miamis big play CB gets burned by 5 yards by a slower WR and the Safety is no where to be found. Clemson gains 31 yards on the play and seals the 24-17 victory.
Miami head coach Junior said after the game that despite Clemsons tough run d he should have given Bass more than 22 carries. He also expressed that as much as he hates to admit that his team just wasn't as good as the media wanted to believe the evidence is on the field. This game was lost by turnovers, a problem that the Canes have had at QB all season. Clemson will now face Alabama in the National Championship, a game that Alabama will be the favorite in.

YEAR 15 DISCUSSION- 2022-2023
National Championship kicking off from Miami... In the rain. Seriously. I hate the rain on this game haha
So far have some glitches goin... their center 'took' the snap for 8 yard rush haha but they followed it up with the QB faking a handoff and then just standing still until my LB came and smashed him for a loss of 5.

Re: YEAR 15 DISCUSSION- 2022-2023
2020 National Championship
This years National Championship was not a flashy game, but what else would you expect with Alabama and the rainy conditions?
Alabama Sr QB, Lonnie Mackey played like a Freshman on the road in the wet conditions early on overthrowing a TE post for an INT and following it up with misleading a WR slant by about 6 yards which resulted in an easy pick for Clemson as well. The Tide was able to at least be effective on the ground game but there was zero trust when true Fr RB McCoy was spelled which resulted in a couple drives stalling as well.
Clemson makes a 51 FG to have the lead after 1. 3-0.
Second quarter saw two of Mackley's three interceptions from Bama really swinging momentum to the Tigers. The mo was so bad that Clemson RB got hurt and the back-up came in rolling Tide defenders like Jerome the Bus Bettis on a 16 yd run. 13-0 Clemson.
3 minutes later Mackey finally hooks up with one of the talented Fr duo at TE, Johnson, for a 9 yard score. 13-7 Clemson.
Bama forces a punt on Clemson's following drive but Clemson is able to deaden the ball at the 2. I make a few conservative play calls but get the ball out of my end zone so I decide to make a throw to try and get another score before half... I shouldn't have been greedy as Mackey throws his 3rd pick of the game and allows Clemson to kick a FG as the first half ends. 16-7 Clemson.
Alabama was able to move the ball through the air just enough to keep the chains moving but there were no big passing plays all game with just a long pass of 17 for the game. Luckily McCoy picked up the slack and hit a few big plays, one being a 37 yard run that felt to loosen the Clemson strangle hold on the game. However, a few plays later, the backup RB is stuffed at the line on 3rd and goal from the 1 setting up a 4th down. Alabama felt they needed to capitalize on the big run earlier and retain the momentum so the offense stayed on the field with the hammer McCoy coming back in the game. No trickery, just man-to-man, Bama Oline wins the push and McCoy plunges in to make it 16-14 Clemson with 2:33 left in the 3rd.
Clemson is able to convert on a couple 3rd downs and then I (as a user FS) fall asleep.... not literally but I quit on the sticks as my DE was wrapping up a QB sack only to see the QB chuck him off and hit a wide open receiver streaking down the middle past my FS standing still for a 39 yard TD. Only 37 seconds left in the 3rd, Bama was going to need another comeback back down 23-14.
Alabama is able to lean on the run game to get into FG possession on the following drive but can't keep the chains moving and settle for a 43 yard FG. 23-17 Clemson. 6 minutes left.
The problem with only being able to run my conservative style of offense is you have to make the most of your limited possessions on offense and with 5 minutes left Bama is able to force a Clemson punt and even though we only had 60 yards to go, it took us just almost 4 minutes to finally get it into the red zone. On a 3rd n 6 I knew we had to pass and the way Mackie had been playing I was a bit nervous as you could imagine. I call an option route with both my Fr TEs and make it a quick 2 read in the middle of the field just hoping to get a first and the 6'7 Hudson is able to grab it right at the sticks and get up field just enough to setup first and goal from the 1. A player later Bama is able to punch it in with the FB. 24-23 Bama 54 seconds left. Clemson still with all 3 TOs left.
Clemson's Oline played well all game and their QB really held in the pocket and was able to complete some passes and all of a sudden Clemson is at midfield with 30 some seconds and two time outs. They have all day again next play as I'm playing zone with 8 defenders so they dump it off and we make a great tackle in bounds to force Clemson to burn a TO.
Alabama makes a gutsy call on the following play. 20 seconds left, Bama calls to bring a heavy blitz off the right side and play zone behind hoping to make Clemson either dump it off again or take a sack. Of course, a 10 yard completion could have also put Clemson in FG range but I felt that was a given if I didn't blitz. And bam, only the second sack of the game for Alabama but it was a big one from their LB Collier forcing Clemson to expend another TO and now had a 3rd and long with 12 seconds left.
Surprisingly, Clemson runs a Hail Mary the next play and Bama was in 3-Deep and comes away with an interception to seal the deal and give Alabama the championship!
