Why does it matter who does what with the rosters? It's not like he said check out MY rosters that I did all by myself! He gave credit for a FREE service which is all he is required to do. Luv, you do great work but you really need to stop being so defensive about these rosters. I am not against you or anyone else in this thread, just calling it like I see it. This is a free service. He gets ton of praise from everyone on the board as is, I have no problem if he wants to wait to release v2 at a later date but it seems like he just doesn't want anyone stealing his "thunder". And that really shouldn't be the goal here. The goal should be providing gamers with the best rosters possible, if a few Georgia fans want to share there upgrades to your rosters they should be allowed. This should not influence your work at all. Just my two cents.

I would like to say that I use your rosters every year and they are the most accurate I have ever come across. I will not even start a madden franchise until I get your rosters just so I have the best draft classes.

I just want to thank you for all the hard work and dedication that you put into this, I couldn't do it.

I have read a few posts and I would like to ask you to not let the words of a few ruin it for everyone.

          Thanks

            Go. Away.

If you want to exercise your free speech as you did in the quoted post above, please do so in the form of a private message to Luv--there is absolutely no need to post that in a thread.

Why does it matter who does what with the rosters? I'M NOT SAYING YOU DID THIS, but I shouldn't take Luv's roster, make some changes to the Tar Heels, and release the entire roster as all my own work. I'M NOT SAYING YOU DID THAT, but why shouldn't I do that? BECAUSE IT MATTERS WHAT PEOPLE DO WITH THE ROSTERS. Look at it this way: ever hear the disclaimer they give during a sporting event (Any rebroadcast....without the expressed written consent of the ___ is prohibited)? IT'S NOT THE EXACT SAME THING, but one thing I can't do is show a game I taped at my house and charge people to watch it; I'm just showing one example of how it matters what you do with a televised sporting event.

You say, "The goal should be providing gamers with the best rosters possible"; that's the very reason Luv welcomes your input as well as everyone else when it comes to providing suggestions. He's been working around the clock to provide these rosters, not only naming players but editing height, weight, appearance, and even some hometowns. It's not about someone "stealing his thunder", it's about paying the dude respect, and I have MAD respect for Luv and the work he does not for himself, but all of us.

If someone painted corn rows on the Mona Lisa and passed it off as his own work WITHOUT GIVING LEONARDO THE CREDIT, don't you think that would be a little messed up?

dude...you are way off...you aren't even close....I'm not in this for thunder stealing or whatever junk you're talking.....I work hard on these rosters and never....never have appreciated someone using my rosters for a base....people expect everything in this world....but guess what?? I dont have to do rosters and you don't have to get them for free...capice?? So if someone wants to go against my wishes..when I asked very nicely....then thats how it is...you worry about yourself man.....I don't know you and I don't care for your opinion.....You obviously don't understand...I dont just put names in...I spend 10-15 hours a days customizing my roster...and to have someone slap a few changes and then offer them up to the community like some hero....I'll never like it...and that's my prerogative...I wasn't being defensive...just want to make it clear....it will never be cool with me when someone slaps a few edits on my rosters and then offers them up to the community.....Edit them up all you want for your own purposes, but all I ask is don't offer them up to the community...

I love the rosters and I appreciate all that you do to enhance the experience of playing NCAA football every single year. Seems odd people keep comparing luvs rosters to LEGAL COPYWRITTEN items. I love his rosters and they are the best, but he's basically doing what EA can't and that's SELLING the likeness of players. I could understand if that uga fan started asking for donations, I would be upset. You have to realize the system that EA forces us to use for rosters, is set up for customization like that. To get mad because somebody cited your amateur work (legally; figuratively definitely professional work) and shared it with others has no merit. Now having said that, this game sucks with out his rosters so he basically has us at gunpoint.

But Luv didn't get mad--go back and read his posts. If UGA had numerous errors, all anyone has/had to do was post them and Luv would have taken care of them--that way EVERYONE would have received the UGA edits--not just the people who got the rosters from one guy who got them from Luv.

I think some people are missing the point here. What Luv doesn't care for is someone taking his roster as a base, making changes, AND MAKING THEM AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY. What he probably wouldn't care about is if I downloaded his roster, made some changes to UNC, then told my neighbor, "Hey man--you want the player names? Here ya go; they're on my jump drive".

Again, there would have been no problem if someone had just posted UGA corrections. If you want to correct UGA or any other team, that's YOUR BUSINESS...just make sure that when you post them for the community, it's YOUR ROSTER.

I just thought of another way to put it. If you don't understand where Luv is coming from, look up the Superman II controversy over directors. It's not the same thing, but you'll get the idea. And by the way...it's an interesting story for those of you who think the Superman II that was released in theaters was the real Superman II.
