He said heard from a source that Madden hadn't really changed the sim engine and playbooks were still all that matter.

So here's the thing with all of this. We now know that EA wasn't behind the exclusivity thing and for the most part, its been the NFL behind it the whole time. With that said, there was never an issue with EA losing the license, which means all of the updates we're getting had nothing to do with that, it simply means the climate and vision in the EA offices has changed over the years. We pretty much got back the devs and suits who's vision more closely aligns with the "sim" crowd now. It took 15 years to get them in there but Goddmmt we got em lol!!!

Did you actually watch the video?? While I don't think it's a "terrible" game, what popped out to me was this isn't worth paying $70+ for, which what he mentioned as well...and what I find funny is that for years we all have heard how OS is a small "minority", but NOW all of a sudden you want to use OS as a metric on how the game is received?


I personally don't care either way, if you want to think his videos are "rage bait" or not that's fine, but if you actually took the time to watch the video you will see that a lot of what he mentions is in fact correct.

If you want positive reviews, they are there, if you want negative reviews they are there as well, just because someone posts their opinion on a game that doesn't align with yours, that does not mean it's "rage bait"...

I’m not a big CFB fan as I think it’s a decent game that’s a bit overrated because it’s been missing for so long. But this place is filled with people that bash Madden (mostly rightfully so) and claim CFB is amazing. So I’m curious how those people feel with their favorite YouTube content creator talking down on CFB since many here think it’s much better than most other sports games.

He may (and likely does) have valid points in there and if the overall takeaway is that EA didn’t add/change enough then I suspect me not playing CFB 25 means most of his feedback will be things I wouldn’t notice.

It’s also very clear 30 seconds in what kind of audience he’s playing to and you know that there’s absolutely no way you’ll be hearing an objective pros and cons review of the game.

The problem with the 'they just want the game to be great like the old days' thing is that it'll never happen. I'm assuming the YouTubers know this but not acknowledging it gives them more content for their channels.

Many of the things that gave those old games replayability were unrealistic and wouldn't be accepted well today because as technology evolved and games became more realistic our standards raised. If you can figure out how to marry the realism we expect now with the unrealistic fun of the past, I'm sure EA would love to hear it. As it is, it just seems like people are more nostalgic for being young and having dumb fun with their friends than they are for the games themselves.

I think you're spot on.

As time has past, I think we look at those games with rose colored glasses. We ignore or forget the issues those games had and don't realize how much better today's games are.

I'm not saying we shouldn't look back at those games and think of which features should return. But I am saying maybe we're not looking at those games quite as objectively as we should.

I just want realistic game / season stats for sim games which means realistic # of offensive plays instead of the avg of 105ish we have seen. From what it sounds like the sim stats will be less influenced by playbooks and more driven by player ratings but the foundation of the sim engine is likely the same which I worry will continue to yield the continuation of too few plays and unrealistic seasonal stats. I hope this isn’t the case but I will be waiting for feedback on this and run/pass ratio for user games before handing over my cash.

From playing the beta, I can confidently say this issue has been addressed, now what happens between then and now? or after the game gets its patches? is anyone's guess, but as far as the beta went, it was a non issue

Don't forget that they're also going to be using the Live Content Update system again to make gameplay changes without full on title updates.

Yes, the game should have been a lot better and if you watched his video his issue is with the changes to gameplay.
