Move an existing coach to another team (Tutorial)

It's a long process but with owner mode no longer available in Franchise I figured theses steps might help someone else.

    Step 1:

Select the team you want to trade the head coach to for example if you want to put
Andy Reid on the Rams select the Chiefs.

    Step 2:

Don’t select actual real coach, instead select a coach type. (This custom coach will replace Andy Reed)

    Step 3

After the custom coach is created scroll over to options/user teams and create a new coach for the team you want to replace Andy Reed on. In this case select the Rams.

    Step 4

Once you select the Rams create a new custom coach to replace “Sean McVay”

    Step 5

After creating a custom coach for the rams head back to options users teams. You will see two custom coaches for the Chiefs and the Rams. One should say commissioner. Select the rams created coach and switch back to that user. Once you are in the Rams profile. Go back to User Settings and select Retire. This will retire the custom coach you created for the Rams.

    Step 6

Create a new character and this time select the Rams and choose a real head coach. And Andy Reid will magically be the head coach for the Rams.

    Step 7

If you want Sean McVay to appear on the chiefs. Repeat the process of selecting the chiefs profile, retire from the league, create a new character and select a real head coach. And Sean McVay will be the head coach of the chiefs.

This is a 7 step process workaround as there is no fire coach option in Franchise mode.

Thanks! Was thinking about just this today and glad someone outlined a tutorial on how to do it

Awesome workaround. Just a PSA, you should be able to change coaches around using Franchise Tool once that is released.

Franchise tool? Is that an upcoming feature? I completely missed that getting announced. Any word on what else it'll be able to do?

It's a tool on PC developed by MMC modders

Ahh man, I got all excited that it was a console thing. Appreciate the update, and hopefully the next big title update will clean up some of this stuff. Even if they allowed you to essentially fire yourself and then change to any other available coach in the coaching pool, that would give us a little more control.

With all the focus on the new coaching upgrades, I had a bad feeling Owner Mode was going away, but being able to switch coaches was THE feature that should've made them think twice on that.
