How fun is Franchise Mode in Madden 26?

    Straight to the point.

I havent played Madden since 2018. CFB 25 made me fall back in love with football games, I clocked it 200+ hours in that game, and Im currently doing the same with CFB26 (I love this game)

I only play dynasty and franchise mode in football games. For those who have the game, how is franchise mode this year? Does it have any game breaking bugs? I saw something about player abilities being messed up...

How good is CPU draft and roster management logic? Is wear and tear messed up like CFB 26? Does the salary cap get messed up in a couple of seasons like NBA 2k?

Thank you in advance for those who contribute to the topic

I'm enjoying it. It's certainly not perfect. I really like the rpg style elements they added and "Game planning" elements. Also the qol improvements are not as deep as I would like, but they really make a difference in feeling connected to the league. The cpu logic seems better so far, i haven't gone through a draft yet but I haven't seen any glaring issues with how the cpu is managing their teams.

This is really a beauty is in the eye of the beholder kind of situation. I can say this, as someone who logged about 800 hours of CFB25 and about 3 hours of Madden last year, I've basically played Madden franchise exclusively since it came out. YMMV, but so far I've had fun with it.

To one of the previous posts point, it has room to grow but I've enjoyed it.

Im usually a pretty stern critic since all I’ve ever played since 2003 is franchise mode. Every year. Over a thousand hours each iteration. I’m not proud of it….

This is the best franchise mode since the Tony Bruno days.

I'm loving it. I hope they don't bork anything in future updates. I really like the extra depth to weekly game plans and the extra roster management care you have to take with W&T being in effect. The coordinator and trainer roles matter more now than ever, which adds depth. The highlights at halftime and the weekly recap are really well done IMO and add extra immersion.

I've been a huge critic of Madden all the way back to 13. I haven't even bought at launch since 21. However. I keep wanting to play Madden 26. That tells you how good it is.

It's good, but disappointed they removed owner mode again!

I usually played coach mode but have not played the game since 16. The quote improvements unquote in franchise have been intrigued but does my QB still just stand there and take sacks in coach mode ?

I also haven't really played Madden since about 2017. I stopped caring about the NFL when my team left so i haven't had a team to root for. I finally decided to get back into the NFL this year after choosing a new team and I've been having a blast with Franchise mode. Still trying to figure everything out but i haven't touched College Football since Madden came out. I like the RPG elements and game planning and scheming it offers.

If you don't think about it, it seems cool. Once you apply grey matter, you realize if you wanted the plays in "play sheets," you'd have put them in your playbook in the first place, "team friendly" vs. "Player friendly" has nothing to do with cap impact, it's just bigger and smaller contracts and there's no longer any such thing as working the cap, the only thing tuned were the top guys in each major offensive stat and the rest was ignored, the dynamic play calling is actually worse than the old invariable playbook based play calling, and Wear and Tear is entire too complex a system for a detail-blind studio like EA to ever tune half decent.

Oh, and somebody decided that you should just decide if QBs sense pressure well and if a given player is prone to committing penalties. Except defensive ends. If you want Nick Boss to perform a bull rush, you gotta move him to tackle for a second to learn how or control him yourself.

                    It's all smoke and mirrors.
