Only played a half before I had to leave the house, but went Bengals/Browns this time. I was up 17-0 at half against Cleveland. The QB completion percentage was higher this game, but, it was ALL dink/dunk from Flacco. He had 12 completions for 68 yards. I was 16/23 at half with Burrow.

Like I said in my first post, Your Mileage May Vary, but I am finding COMP plays a better game for me. We're all different in how we play, our skill level, etc. I will say that I had the W&T blank graphic pop-up again for me with Chase Brown, but this time, he left the game and didn't come back before halftime. Perine finished the half for me, so maybe W&T is working on comp and the graphic is bugged??? IDK, I just know that Chase Brown disappeared on the last 2 drives of the half.

If they don't drop the Week 1 rosters till later tonight, I guess I won't be able to start my franchise till this weekend since I'll be watching the game tonight, but I'm diving with both feet in on default AM comp solo franchise. I've played almost a dozen games now and it just feels like the way to go for me.

Those who are finding more enjoyment on COMP...awesome. You do you....I will do me....it's all good. There are those who see little to no difference save for no flags and no injuries on COMP. That's a non starter for my playing style and how I franchise.

I get great penalty numbers, good injuries....and I am forced to manage my roster. That's why I use SIM mode. My gameplay experience has been great on Madden 26.
There are lots of injuries on comp. I have it set at 25 and get plenty

But i want to point out.

I only go to comp for all Madden

If i was making sliders for all pro or pro I'd be on sim

Main reason I'm on comp in all Madden is it feels like it greatly remove the all Madden cheese because there is very little RNG compared to SIM setting. And the RNG is tuned very heavily in CPU favor on all Madden where on all pro, is more balanced 😊

Going to have to give your sliders a try. Because like you no penalties or injuries is a non starter for me. But on Sim on all-pro I just can’t seem to get the CPU to actually put up a fight. Why can’t they just make the CPU play smarter and more challenging like they do in CFB?

I might simulate a quarter or half of a game using COMP in order to get more risk of injuries / random wear and tear issues.

I started my Week 1 Jets CFM today, defaulted sliders on AM to all 50, this includes injuries.

Played Steelers on Sim, it was 33-26 at the end of the 3rd quarter, no penalties and 2 minor injures, Rogers was 92% completion and Fields was 82%. Played it again on Comp, lost 28-14, had a significant amount of injures, besides the sit out a few plays injures, I lost my RG for the season and my DE for 9-12 weeks. Rogers was 70% and Fields was 50%.

To each their own for sure, but Comp just felt more like football to me, lots of knock downs, some bad throws, rushing for both me and the CPU was great, etc.. At the end of the day, it's about having fun and I enjoyed the game on Comp much more. It's going to be a LONG season with Fields at the helm.

Here we are again, this time in Madden and not NHL.. LOL

But same man, Comp has given me the best results with very minimal adjustments. But go back to defaulted sliders after this current playoff run with the Jets.

Every game on Sim the CPU was 88% plus passing. Heck even the weekly highlight show Lamar would be 22 of 22 for 2 TD's etc. This was for multiple QB's as well. I have yet to see that in the highlights using Comp. Maybe that was a fluke, but who knows.

For the fun factor and how the game plays, it's Comp for me and it's not even close.

I always find this discussion so interesting, I'm glad that comp works for some because I truly feel M26 is the best Madden we've had, warts and all.

Sim has been great for me using Armor's sliders with a slight decrease to catching and QB accuracy, but I did try comp in 24 and 25 and tbh wasn't impressed with the results. But I can totally see default All-Madden playing better on comp, All-Madden is weird this year

How does this impact the stats in Franchise? Are the stats more realistic, or still out of wonk but a but more realistic? Like could this fix the number of sacks issue being on comp vs sim?

On the subject of injuries, I am still greatly annoyed that QBs are invincible. Yeah, I get the w/t thing but I want to see QBs get their fair of injuries.

as it stands right now, I have to incorporate a house rule where I have to carry 3 QBs with the backup being at least a 75 just to get some semblance of realism.

So if comp offers better gameplay but fewer penalties (still DPI) vs staying on sim but worse gameplay due to increasing the penalty sliders to get only 3-4 in the game anyway

                        Is it really worth it!?!
This is completely false, upping the penalties I am definitely seeing penalties to where on my competitive test (which I quit at halftime) I did not see one penalty, and you call that sim? Also continuing the narrative that penalties have an impact on gameplay is seriously over played. I have never seen anything with 100% positivity that gameplay is affected in the way you claim it is.

Saying Comp offers "better gameplay" is nothing more than an opinion, you feel it does? fine then that's your opinion, but for myself and many others the gameplay is not as drastic as some would like us to believe.

If you're only getting 3-4 penalties a game, then that is definitely a "you" problem, because I definitely see more than that.

I have mine on 50 and see a ton of injuries on Comp.. strange you didn't have 1. I have 3 players out for multiple weeks in just 2 games so far. To each his own though, there is no 'wrong' answer here, it's your game. I don't care one bit about penalties, they definitely have some kind of affect in CFB, when I had them turned up, the game played worse for me (CFB), so I put them back on default.

Yeah it is wild how different the game plays for people. Has to be the way we are all different on the sticks? I'm seeing 2-4 penalties on each team basically every game and injuries all the time.

Love that we can all enjoy the game how we want and mention what works or what we all are seeing, but at this point makes me wonder if anything works, game style, sliders, settings, etc. LOL. Crazy.

When I read the description of Competitive game style, something stands out: "No injuries, dampened fatigue, only player-controlled penalties for H2H competition ."

I think the lack of fatigue is a big factor with competitive. Logically this should ensure everyone is performing at their top level each time, correct? So, wouldn't a way to get the best of both worlds is just play on Simulation with Fatigue set to ZERO or a very low number under 50? This kind of discussion happened way back when in NCAA 14 as well with those who were promoting Fatigue "Off".

Funny you mentioned this, because I did just that when messing around with game styles. I wanted Sim to have that Arcade "feel". Halftime of all 3 games I played the scores were in the 30's for both teams. Had to abandon that ship lol.

Those descriptions haven't been updated in years, 'No injuries' is false in their description. I would also say fatigue has been fine on AM default 50 on comp. The big thing for me is, the game is too wide open on sim and much tighter on comp, at least on AM defaults. I know yourself and other slider folks can get the game playing great on sim with your settings, so there is always that route for those who want to play on simulation. I'm old and set in my ways and always play default in all my games, except for The Show which I use dynamic difficulty with 6/6 for injuries.
