It makes no sense to have the success of all special moves dependent on whether or not you're holding down a trigger button.

Let the player ratings and the pursuit angles determine when special moves will work, not some arbitrary button.
there is potential to do some nice things with it, but right now they are on the fence where it could go either way. i hope they make it more practical and find ways to make it realistic. I like he concept of holding LT then speed bursting out of it. but CG it only worked in skillz trainer. it would be nice to have the ball carrier breakdown his steps while holding LT for a more effective speed bursts, spin or what have you vs just spinning while running, the trade off would be the loss of speed and momentum.

also it could be used to separate the different use of the same move. spin to elude defender vs spin to absorb hit and spin away after contact. High dive (catch some air) vs Low dive (extra yard)
the are kinda doing this a little already but like you said it isn't done in a sim way right now.

it started with M25CG but more and more old school OS'ers are feeling madden again. If they continue to focus on gameplay then start to catch up with presentation I think they have the stage set to re take their status among the sports game community. they aren't there yet but it feels good to have decent football game again. cant wait to get my hands on NG.

I was starting to feel like a sell out LOL on the CG boards, nice to see more and more vets come on board. between 12 and 25 I have to give credit where credit is due

Played a half as the Colts against the Falcons.

This is much better than CG, IMHO. Default All-Pro, Normal speed, Zoom camera. I was getting beat 17-7, and loved it. Ryan carved me up, but he also over threw a wide-open Harry Douglas and he under threw a pass when I got some pressure.

On the PS3, I thought M25 was a clear upgrade to M13. I think it makes a similar jump to NG.

This is funny. EA should post what the hardcore Madden gamers are saying.

I hope you like it too. Come back and let us know what you think. And if you have the time, could you go into things that are outside of gameplay. Franchise stuff, like simmed stats, CPU roster AI, balanced progression and things like that. And tell Thath she needs to spend some of those big paychecks buying us all PS4's.

LOL, I sure hope that doesn't happen too often. Just remember, its a video game not real life so weird things are bound to happen at some point.

I like it. I'm not gonna lie, I like it. It's by no stretch a perfect game...but it is what I feel it's ps3 counterpart should've been. The computer AI is tougher, making those highlight reel plays is tougher, etc... That being said, I do think that if they were working on this game for 2 years it should be just a bit more of a step up in terms of the hardware that it's using now. I've been through many a year filled with anticipation of August, only to be let down and disappointed. The next gen game is not a step in the right direction IMO, it is a leap onto a new path.

I've only played a half, thanks to NBA2K melting my brain, but what I played of Madden I liked. I am a bit disappointed with the graphics, but it's still the best looking Madden ever. Mainly, what little I played was fun. I like this game.

Perhaps there could be another thread later on with such thoughts posted.

Heck, even the Gatorade time outs in CG M25 were no big deal to me early on, until I saw them for the 500th time....

I am particularly interested in hearing about CFM immersion factor and gameplay balance, as these are the features that keep me coming back for more.

I am admittedly surprised to hear such good feedback so far and look forward to hearing more. The only reason for me to buy a PS4 would be if this game delivers the goods.

Frankly, I'm shocked at how positive the next gen impressions have been, esp. considering the reception current gen has, and continues to get...

Sounds like the graphics / gameplay and sim engine has taken a step forward...

In addition to what the above posters are looking for feedback on, I'm curious if:

                          1) Formation Subs are back and fucntional

                          2) Auto Subs work

As well as "anything and everything" that pertains to Single Player / Offline / CCM / Sim

                          Thanks guys!

$$$ is thankfully not the issue with my purchase...

M25 and the "awkward" and lengthy transition from PS2 to PS3 (which wasn't until M10, IMHO) are...

                          Color me:

                          Shocked and cautiously optimistic...

I have been playing non-stop since I got the console last night. I am enjoying it very much. It certainly is the best Madden of all the maddens released this year, probably the last 7. But I still have one big gripe. The quarterbacks, even the elite ones, throw into coverage or up for grabs too much for my liking. This also occurred in the CG versions. As a result, there are a lot of interceptions for both cpu and user, even with the slider at 5. However, I did notice when increasing QB accuracy this happened less frequently. I have it at 75 now. The game by no means is revolutionary. Its really not a true next gen game. But with that being said, it's still the best Madden I have played since 05 on the ps2.

Do you have to log into PSN Plus to get roster updates? 49ers still have AJ Jenkins ...

How do you shift the DL and the OLBs?

Can you save audibles and depth charts?

I think this mirrors my thoughts on the game. I would concur on all your points.

One more quick impression, I am really digging the replay angles, huge improvement over CG. CPU RB's seem to run to daylight better, and use jukes and spins and special moves more than they have in the past.

Overall, I've only played a handful of games, but it's the most fun I've had in Madden in some time.
