I waited until Sunday to start downloading so I've only played about 4 full games but I was pleasantly surprised and I really like it. Playing against the CPU feels a lot different. Maybe I'm imagining things but it seems like if I really mix up my coverages, do my job as the user controlled player and don't take too many chances I feel like I'm making an impact on defense in a positive way for the first time in awhile as opposed to have no impact or screw up and give up a TD.
I still have turboitis in the running game and keep holding R2 way too often as I did on current gen but the new physics really make me appreciate being patient and waiting to speed burst until I get to a hole or try to turn the corner on a toss. Passing with the QB feels pretty much the same as far as ball trajectory and velocity goes but the way guys run a lot of routes is noticeably different, especially when they cut so the timing is at least a little different from some stuff on current gen.
I was probably more down on this game than most before launch and thought it'd be legitimately bad but I really like it and will be playing a lot more than I did the past few months on 360. I'm actually kind of looking forward to patches for this generation and I'm hoping they put out larger more substantial patches that can really fix AI and some gameplay issues as opposed to a couple blatantly obvious AI mistakes and some stability fixes and CCM glitches. Right now I still think it plays great out of the box and this might actually be my most played PS4 game for awhile.
