Re: VSN speaking with Josh Looman on CFM, taking questions now

Forgive me for being a pessimist based on history here, but those questions are all excellent in that forum and it made me a little sad knowing that most of those great ideas will be absent from the game yet another year Hopefully I'm wrong. There are some nice suggestions in that thread that would really make CFM much better. Many of them are really things that you would think would just be common sense to have in a career mode.

We have recorded the interview but I am going to be exchanging emails with Josh on questions that we were not able to get to during the time we had available for the discussion.

Thanks to everyone that submitted questions!

Will ties be accounted for correctly in seeding? Also, well tie breakers be used according to NFL rules?

Re: VSN speaking with Josh Looman on CFM, taking questions now

All I'm interested in is editing rookies and draft classes so that we aren't forced to play with EAs classes. Which are horrendous. If we can't edit draft classes, or if we can't edit those rookies post draft at least...I have no interest in this game, period.

I've already been told no custom classes, so what they need to do is take a page from the NCAA series and patch in the ability to let us edit everything about players at any time while in franchise mode.

When I say everything, I mean
            Name
            Height
            Weight
            Skin color
            Equipment
            Atrributes
            College
            Age

I want realism in my franchise. No comical names and no players with crazy attributes that make no sense. I want real rookies and draft classes that resemble real life.

TRAITOR! THIS IS TREASON! Quick, Millennium, off with his head. For the King!

Any how, I really hope that the tie breakers are correct and that the AI will utilize its own practice points. Even the former wasn't that big of an issue, but the latter really killed any long-term offline league. The user either had a stacked team and abused that to get even stronger via trades, or, the user also didn't practice and all backups were absolute garbage.

Ask about the fake Twitter feed. I hope that they have done away with it. It's incredibly repetitive. And a few years ago I was told that it was the reason we couldn't edit players. Come on EA. A fake Twitter? That's not a groundbreaking idea.

I hope he was asked about

                  Auto subs working properly
                  formation subs
CPU AI improvements (roster mgmnt, draft logic, player re-signing)
                  SCHEMES working properly
SCOUTING improvements! - IRL teams aren't absolutely clueless on players!
                  Assistant coaches (see HC09)
                  PLAYBOOK knowledge and team chemistry
Player roles (ie starter, back up, special teams, reserve)
                  Better contracts/ability to resign players
Improvements to Owners Mode - ridiculously cumbersome and time consuming to do 32 team control
Why more features from HC09 haven't been brought over
Improvements to menu's/screens - better load times, less back and forth

Anything you can imagine, he was probably asked, but as much as the gameplay guys like to be open, I am highly doubting Looman will answer much of what we want to hear. And if he does, "maybe next year" will be the most likely of responses.

Rex and crew all seem on the right page. Donny Moore and Josh Looman tough.... no.

So the CFM reveal must be near.

Why do I have that feeling like I am about to go on a blind date? And I cannot shake the fear that she will be a wild snorlax.

@BillyBrewer: @jpdavis1982 Thought it went well. Lots of good information. It will be published as soon as EA posts the CFM reveal.

I don't want to get to excited just to be let down so I will try to prepare for the worst. Did he say that it could be coming out soon or is he not sure?

Yea the crazy names thing is kind of comical when you look at some of the actual names in the NFL. The thing I hate most about the draft classes (don't know why it bothers me so much but it does) is the amount of players from non FBS schools. It seems like once you get out of the 2nd round every player is from a school like mighty Augustana. And then of course there is the mismatched ratings/positions like the 70 spd WR's.

Here is the one point where I disagree with you. Don't forget someone once drafted JaMarcus Russell with the first overall pick. Scouting does need to be greatly improved but at the same time teams IRL make mistakes in the draft all the time.
