To try to word it another way, it seems like this may stem from an older element being left in the game, QB traits, which is a good thing but not actually integrated with new additions. Sort of like when the Pass Accuracy rating became useless after Madden added SAC/MAC/DAC.

I don't want to get into all the oddities of Madden though, just saying I wonder if QB traits were even taken into consideration when adding the new QB AI. Maybe it was and this is just a glitch or bug that can be patched.
I believe you hit the nail on the head, they need to have a tuner for qb traits and not allow qbs to become oblivious as easily, or something to that affect.
Now we all have to just sit back and hope they address the qb traits and tune them correctly.
It's very simple EA, qbs like Drew Brees should NOT be oblivious to the pass rush and take 10+ sacks per gm. They should "throw ball away", "escape the pocket and/or throw ball away" or "force passes". Sacks should be earned off of good defensive schemes and/or defensive players just blowing up the man in front of them, ala J.J. Watt.
Not because the cpu holds the ball for 6 seconds or longer.
Even qbs like Ryan Fitzpatrick knows how to throw ball away, take off run, etc. What's his awareness rating in M15?

this doesnt work. armor and sword and some others have been working on this for a while now.
basically there was a roster with qb edits that had every qb set to trigger happy trait. it knocked down sack numbers drastically. issue was the cpu barely ever threw down field.
most of us who followed Armors thread basically scrapped the edited qb idea and started online cfms because EA basically mostly fixed it for online cfms.
every once in a while I get too many sacks still but its not completely outrages and id rather sacrifice a little bit unrealistic sack numbers for the dink and dunk behaviour the cpu exhibited with the qb edited rosters.

I'm playing online cfm and I'm still getting 8-10 sacks a game. I can't get thru the first drive without sacking their QB twice. I just quit after that happens

I went through and edited every quarterback in the game to "paranoid" and "throws ball away." I also bumped their ball carrier vision up to 95. I have the CPU pass blocking slider set at 95. I'm only getting 2 to 3 sacks a game, now, so it definitely works in my experience. Can't take credit for this, though. Got the idea from Vannwolfhawk.

I agree played my first cfm game other day a few plays into the 2nd I had 8 sacks combined between me and the cmp 5 by me 3 by the cmp. I shut the game off at that time I prob would of finished with 16 sacks at rate they was happening.

and I've played with both rosters the edit qb and reg until they fix the dline pressure tone it down the sacks will be a huge problem.

Re: Sense Pressure Trait is fubar and why there are too many sacks on CPU

Really the only sacks that make me want to turn the game off immediately are the screen passes where the QB just takes it for no reason at all. Just started a game against Kaepernick and the first drive he has a wide open HB screen and just backs up until somone catches him. QB AI like that should be considered broken, that's just something that would NEVER happen, ever. I won't be losing to the CPU if they just hand me sacks. Being oblivious is one thing but to stare down 2 defenders as you drift 10 yards back and let them tackle you? So I go into my rosters, thought I was using Van's FBG, but actually EA's default Week 4 I think.

              Kaepernick:

Tuck and Run - Often. Throw ball away - Yes. Forces Passes - Aggressive. And Sense Pressure is PARANOID. So I'm going to change this to Triggy Happy and see if he takes a screen sack. Leave everything else the same.

No screens on the first drive but he passes 4 times and goes 1/4. First pass, a blitz and his face and he just barely gets it away as he gets hit. 2nd pass he has plenty of time and instead of hitting the slot WR down middle of field 15 yards he waits to dump it off to Gore after the play action from shotgun. Gore is behind a lineman battle and ball hits him right in the helmet. Guess he couldnt see it? 3rd pass, quick pressure after a failed cut block but Kaep dumps it off to WR. 4th pass, from 7 yard line, he has time but tries to get the TD on 3rd and 1 instead of the first down to to open TE in flat. Cromartie leaps up and knocks down the pass. Kaeps throw didnt have enough touch on it.

Next drive he gets rid of it on the screen perfectly.

Trigger Happy felt more like Kaepernick, along with his other traits, not perfect reads or throws but not blind.

So whenever I see a "WTF sack" I'll go back and check the QBs trait and see what it is. I'm using default sliders so I can safely say that my sliders aren't causing it. Thanks for the find

Using FBG rosters now and go up against Drew Brees and he takes a sack on a screen. It was covered though by dlineman but any decent QB throws the ball away in that situation. Check his trait and it's on paranoid. I put it on Ideal and he comes out and has Brees-like pocket awareness and attempts to throw ball away and throws on the run in face of pressure. He was picking me apart short and attempted a 55 yard pass downfield that I barely broke up.

                Ideal works fine.

Re: Sense Pressure Trait is fubar and why there are too many sacks on CPU

I got Madden last week when I bought a PS4 for the second time. In MOST ways, this is by far the best iteration of the game that I ever played. Visually, it's stunning. The lighting and animations are really great to watch, especially on Slow speed.

HOWEVER....the sack issue is killing this game for me. I've used four slider sets over the past week, and even with the CPU Pass Block slider maxed out, the CPU is still taking 8-10 sacks per game, regardless of the matchup. I love the new pass rushing controls, but I've ditched playing with anybody on the D-Line because it's just WAY too easy to rack up user sacks. I'm not as peeved by that because I've switched to playing SS with the new Player Lock camera, and I'm still enjoying that quite a bit.

With all that being said, if this is the workaround for this issue, then I'm willing to help in whatever way I can. I never even knew about the QB traits until I read this thread. I assume that these are found in the "Edit Player" section of the rosters, correct?

@Wordtobigbird - What are the FBG rosters?

Re: Sense Pressure Trait is fubar and why there are too many sacks on CPU

I tried something new and instead of editing the qb's...traits I edited the olineman and dline traits.

I put the O and D lines to paranoid.... and I put no to the dline's swim and power and bull rush.

I tested out in 6 minute quarters.... through first half only recorded 2 sacks 1 by me 1 by the cmp.

2nd half the cmp got 2 more sacks.... and it was a 3-1 sack difference most the sack's came from coverage sacks and me forgetting to throw ball away.

the 4th quarter I got 4 sacks but all those came from the cmp qb trying to run option play and he ran right into my OLB.... so the final total was 8 sacks and this was against Wilson and the seahawks.

now that was far different from the game I played in my cfm other day where I had 8 sacks.... even before halftime. of course that was 12 minute quarters but I could tell the game played different in other game I practically man handled the steelers oline.... this game I tried and the oline was holding up against me trying to sack the qb.

im gonna test out another game this time 12 minute quarters and see if there's a sack fest or if im onto something.
