I think that if we are aiming for a realistic simulation then it should be in the game.

Ill be completely honest here...EA needs to have more of a focus on functioning penalties and functional sliders BEFORE they even remotely need to worry about the calvin johnson rule. Stuff like that, the show can do because they nailed the core gameplay down solid a few years back, so now its refine, refine, and layer the good stuff like this on top. EA still has a ways to go just getting a proper foundation of football down.

Don't really see how the two are related, or are penalties the thing this year that every thread will get sidetracked to? Lowest common denominator of accomplishing this addition is a new set of animations and a several flavor of a couple lines of commentary discussing it.

I hope not man. I mentioned the penalties simply because its one of the basic principles of a game one should get right. With what is there now the game of football isn't right. It is of my opinion that more focus be put into the basics. I wish I could explain in text here what I mean, but the gist of it all is that the foundational principles of this game stink to the point of there needs to be no focus on the wazzoo additions and an entire cycle needs to be centralized on getting the game of football entirely right.
