I coach every game no simming. I am still learning the FA thing as I let the cpu handle that in previous Madden games. I think in year 4, with a new character after getting fired, Armor & Swords sliders we'll start to have some success

two things...
1) It's the AFC South.... The Colts win it. End of story.
2) I play my games with Coach Mode so I have can react to the flow of the game. If you have never done a coach mode game........ you are missing something AWESOME

Oh no, I absolutely love coach mode and do it. What difficulty do you put coach mode on and do you use slider sets?

I just started one with the Jags with the final roster update. Playing with Charter04's slider set on All-Madden and so far in the first 4 games I'm undefeated.

I have some house rules I abide by that fit in line with a Sim style of play (my biggest being no Free Agency pick ups in the 1st year unless my starter gets injured and I don't have a suitable back up, I only use the Trade Block for trades, punt and FG on 4th down unless I feel a team would do so in real life or ask madden suggests it, not calling with same plays over and over, etc.) and I mostly use Ask Madden so I'm not defaulting to only plays I feel comfortable calling (this can get repetitive sometimes but it helps to eliminate me calling plays I know will work in the situation I am in) however I will call audibles and hot routes time to time just not excessively.

The only FA/trades I've made were signing HB Kenjon Barner after HB Denard Robinson tore his shoulder and was out for 5 weeks and then I traded my 2016 3rd round pick for HB Knile Davis after Barner got injured for 7 weeks. In my last game QB Blake Bortles went down with a 4 week injury but I finished the game strong with Stephen Morris. I'll have to sign a QB in FA for a back up but Morris is my starter for now.

I have times where the other team will go up big (the Eagles started the game with a pick 6 and then on the next drive strip sacked Bortles for a TD) but every time something like that happens my defense will hold them off from scoring again.

I'm using the Jags playbook on O and D and using a created coach but I'm finding it hard not to win. Bortles and Morris seem on point nearly 90% of throws where as in my Falcons and Pats franchises I have trouble completing any passes with Matt Ryan or Tom Brady. So I'm not entirely sure what I am doing wrong that I can't lose with the Jags but I seem to struggle more when playing as better teams.

I agree. It's a whole different animal when you play coach mode. My team is now only an 81 at the start of year 4 but Bortles is an 89 OVR with all throwing attributes and AWR at 80 or above. In the previous 3 seasons he's only had 1 where he threw more TD than INT and that was in the 2015 season where he tossed 20 TD and 17 INT.

This is going to be my first full season using Armor & Sword's sliders but I've got 9 games under my belt with them now, finishing out the final 5 games of the previous season and this year's preseason. I'm hopeful we'll be a better team this season. Just re-signed Bortles to a 5-year contract though as i believe in the guy. He'll be a Jag until he's 30 at least. 😀

First off, I too am using armor's set. My set, that I posted, is dead for me.
I just started a new chise with the jaguars last night. Won the division at 8-7-1!!! (I always sim the first season). Lost in the divisional round to the Broncos. Bortles went up to a 94 ovr for the next season.
My team is now ready to play for coach mode, in year two, as the Portland Lumberjacks. I let the cpu do all signings and what not. My biggest addition is, 85 ovr RB Mark Ingram. I also put the current free agents they just acquired IRL.
I lost the first game to the saints 28-24! (Brees with a two minute drive, no timeouts, win). I was up 21-7 at the half, as well!
Brees 68%, 313 yds, 2 tds, 1 int.
Bortles 79%, 279 yds, 1 td, 2 int.

Robinson 78 yds, 2 td. 19 car.
Ingram 139 yds, 2 td. 31 car.

No defense with 5 sacks
PDX defense with 3 sacks

The best and most disappointing game of Madden I've ever played. Great stats and great animations. I suggest that if you use armors set, you lower qb acc down to 9, rec down to 75 and up hum pblk up to 65. You won't be disappointed.

I'm having the same issue but with the Raiders. I even had a loss happen because of a dumb interception that is a animations issue in the game. Defender's arm went through the arm of my receiver to make an interception.

I have the funds issue that seems to plague CFM taken care of but damn I just can't for the life of me win any games.

This might be my problem then. I'll have to give coach mode a try as I've never really entertained the idea of using it. It is honestly no fun taking a project team only to have them play like a dynasty right off the bat. I mean seriously Blake Bortles injured for the entire season and Stephen Morris comes in and dominates.....out of 7 games only one loss to the Steelers (and even that was a winnable game down by 3 points 40 seconds left on the clock at the 50 yard line and Stephen Morris gets hit as he throws the ball resulting in a fumble for a Steelers TD).

I like charter04's slider set but if you guys are having more luck with Armor's set I'll have to give it a shot.

One thing i did do before playing the first regular season game is set player and cpu offense the same as his cpu skill offense and player and CPU skill defense the same as his player skill defense since both offenses are CPU controlled. That first game was a 13-10 home win over BAL.
