And that right there is one of the biggest issues with Madden imo. They show one thing, and produce something different for us consumers. Not saying everything they show is like that, but fact is, that is the very type of thing people get so ticked off at EA over. I saw the video your talking about , and thought , finally... but then final product , they watered it down.... for the casuals.

It got really bad when they got to the calls, I had to turn it off because some of the stuff being said was just ridiculous and they were cosigning it, so I was done, but right before then there was some good things being said.

Honestly if EA would tell us why things aren't being done or why they can't be done I'd have an easier time dealing with madden. Tell us why equipment hasn't been updated or what is going on with True-Step.Comment

Yea it's pretty disheartening. The guys that were supposed to be ambassadors for the us ended up drinking the kool aid.

Yeah @SimFBallCritic needs to change his twitter handle to @MaddenFBallLover It's amazing when these guys become GC's they must have to partake in a RE-Education class or something. They become a Marketing ploy for sites like ours. It's like becoming friends with someone, You no longer want to be too critical of them.Comment

Really? All it would take is honesty?
If Ea said we don't update equipment often because polling shows us that most people don't care about mouthpieces or accurate helmets, you would be cool with that?
My guess is u would still be annoyed and come down just as hard on Ea for its priorities. The fact is we know why ea does what it does.
The primary focus has always been on adding features that can be on the back of the box. New equipment and true step for all 22 players aren't those types of features.Comment

Realistic movement, foot-planting, step-taking, pursuits for all players etc. are not back of the box features?Comment

I guess I'm saying I could respect anyone/entity for telling the truth, even if I didn't like or agree but not for offering up a myriad of excuses and justifications for things not being up to standard.Comment

I don't understand the purpose of having two different catch buttons. When would you use an aggressive catch over a possession catch?
You rarely ever see receivers consciously choose to make a highlight reel catch unless you're watching and OBJ or Julio Jones pregame warm up. The overwhelming majority of those highlight reel catches are purely contextual. They're performed in situations where they can't catch the football conventionally and have to make a last minute adjustment as a result of a bad throw, defense, or misread of the ball.

Gcers though, especially ones that supposedly speak for the SIM community should do what they did before the program. If EA says they added qb inaccuracies, I'd expect them to take EA to task if it fails or make vids showing it in action instead of suddenly towing the company line about how you'll feel the difference when you get to try the game.
I can see why they do it, but because of that I know longer trust their opinions. I can get the same results from reading the back if the box.Comment

Despite however 'sim' it might be, there's very few people that want to go through stuff like the Lions did early last season and even more so when it comes to online whether it's an online league or just random matchmaking. Same thing goes for QB accuracy.Comment

We used to take those guys to Applebees and make them sing karaoke on Thursday nights when they were visiting.
Maybe it's more glamorous now. Like Macaroni Grill or something.Comment

I think one of the problems is that a lot the GC'ers have a mostly online, user v. user mindset as well and that heavily alters what they might want to see out of the game. I remember one of them saying last year that FG kicking was going to be rough and that sounded really good but in reality it meant maybe missing one or two FG's out of every 30 kicked. And maybe that is rough when it comes to playing online but it's not even close to real for the most part.
