For those youngins out there that never played ps2 madden, the morale system for that was great. If a guy felt he should be starting, his morale would drop. If, at anytine, it dropped too far he would ask to be traded. His morale determined how much he asked for when it came time to resign and also determined if he held out at the beginning of the next season. If a player's morale dropped too low, he would refuse to resign no matter what you offered. Morale made everything you did, personnel wise, have some type of consequece. Put a player on the trade block? Morale drop. Low ball the player with your contract offer? Morale drop. Start that lower rated rookie over the higher rated veteran? Morale drop for the vet. Trade or release your superstar player? Morale drop for the entire team. It was great and really made you think about the moves you make in your franchise.

Outside of this, I'd like to see free agency work more like recruiting did in NCAA. Yes, you make your offer, but that would just be part of the equation. You would have to "pitch" the free agent on things like; team facility, location, weather, your offer, coach's regular season wins, playoff wins, superbowl wins, etc. The free agent would have a list of most important to least important and you pitched those each week if free agency. An older player would likely have superbowl wins as most important or, if he already has a superbowl win, he may list location as most important. On the other hand, a younger player may list "your offer" as most important. You have limited time so you could either use most of it trying to woo one free agent with multiple pitches or you can spread your time out with pitches to other free agents. Also, because of this limited time, most of the higher rated free agents sign week 1 of free agency, just like in real life. No more waiting the entire free agency period for a guy with 10 offers. In essence, in that aspect, it would be the opposite of how free agency works now. The more offers a player receives, the sooner he signs.

Finally, I'd like to see some kind of waiver wire system, especially for online cfm. Picking up released players should never be first come first serve, like it is now, and we should not have to make up our own waiver wire rules when the waiver wire is clearly a big part of the NFL. It's simple. When a player is released, people can put in a claim for that player during that week. The person that wins the claim is awarded that player and his contract upon advance. If no one puts in a claim, the player is free to sign with anyone and it works like it does now. It's quite simple actually.

Based off what madden has done the last few years, I doubt any of this stuff gets into the game anytime soon, but one can hope, right?
I like the morale system..SOunds a lot like how the "Head Coach" game worked. OF course, I think most who have played both NCAA and MAdden, would agree, NCAA had so much correct...DAMN those whiny ex-college players....

EDIT*** I'll edit out that last sentence if it is deemed going too far..

      Good list, I'd add:

The lower a player’s health gets at each body part, the greater the chance that the next big hit could cause an injury, specific to that body part. So if Kurt Warner takes a huge hit to the head with his already low health there, he stands a really good chance of suffering a severe concussion. How quickly the player heals and is able to return to the lineup is based on their age and toughness rating. Keep an eye on your players as the season goes on…they can and will wear down.

So by this , i am taking it , defensive assignments are still not in madden 16? Which is kinda sad when they are focusing on wr/cb interactions , should be the time to add that feature. All i can do about that is

        My list would be :

        Your #1

2-Draft boards players can set , so if they cant make draft time, Cpu picks straight off that board first. Needs to allow us to order about 50 players on it

3-Give commissioners more options on what we can turn on and off for entire league. Since it seems EA is so concerned about getting the casuals to want to play CFM, give us options , to allow us ( those who dont want some things) the ability to turn things off in our CFM ( EX.-drive goals, confidence, anything new they add cause most times it seems not right first year its out, let commissioner set max amount of points each attribute can be raised per season)

4-More attributes to scout, top 3 things just is not enough variance. We need to be able to scout the attributes we choose.

5-Weekly wrap up show would be great( just see ESPN 2k5 for how it should be done )

Just quoting this specifically because I somehow forgot to mention waivers in my CFM gameplay mechanics wishlist and this definitely should be a part of that.

Re: What features are you most wanting to see in CFM?

Most everything I want has been addressed here. I'll reiterate in the hope that this "voice of the CFM fan" will rise up some this year and finally set the record straight for what we want in the game (ha).

1.) Stat Slider: personally, I've always wanted control of the simulation engine. It just needs to be a set of sliders that allow you to control the output of the stats you want. If you want an era of the RB ten years into your franchise you should be able to do it. If the sack numbers are out of whack (like they were BADLY last year) then you should be able to tweak it. If you want 20 quarterbacks to throw for 5000 yards, so be it.

2.) Fix Career Card: for the last couple years, you haven't been able to even see the TEAM a player played for. This has outraged me to no end. When I want to review that HoF career in my CFM of a standout 20 year player, I want to remind myself where he began, if he was a lifer for the team, or if he bounced around. Ridiculous that this was stripped out of the game.

3.) Contract/Compensation: won't go into detail here, it's been stated better above me in this thread. Better contract options and compensation picks, etc.

4.) Practice Squads/Injury System Revamp: not sure why this has never made it to the game especially in the PS3/PS4/360/XB1 eras. It's ten players sitting on teams rather than FA, big whoop.

5.) Draft/Player Editing - Another "duh." Why EA? What will be your excuse this year why I have no control over my own franchise mode? Please treat me like I'm 12 again, I can't wait.

6.) Better Relocation/Uniform Control: honestly, I'd love minor tweaks to be made to existing uniforms over 50 years of franchising. If they could get the 32 teams to sign off on it, I'd love it if they designed a few "futuristic" alternate uniforms that would be sprinkled in over time.

7.) Fix Regression: should be more random, less predictable. Hate how everyone retires at 38-39 and half the league comes back for 1 year then retires again. Should be more people regressing and RETIRING at 30-35. Should be a few people (QB/specialists) that stay in the league until they are 41-43. Should be more randomness to WHY they retire. Some should for personal reasons. Some should because they were a flash in the pan player who regress QUICKLY. Some should because they are just old. Some should due to injury. "Some" should retire like normal and come back, for varying lengths of time. More 35 year olds retire, sit out a year, come back and play for 2-3 more, etc.

No more points system's of any kind.

              No recruiting points (use time)
No scouting points (use practice/coaching to improve certain aspects of the game). Coordinators will accelerate aspects of players game's based on their coaching specialty.

                • Coaching Staffs. Not just OC/DC but positional coaches as well (QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB, ST, Strength & Conditioning)
                • Practice Squads
                • Compensatory Picks
                • Some semblance of off-season activities (Rookie mini-camp, OTA's, Training Camp)
                • Waivers
                • PUP
                • Playbook/Scheme knowledge ratings.
                • Custom CPU Playbooks
                • Probable, Questionable, Doubtful injury designations

Probably could go on for hours and hours but that was just what first came to mind.

More likely to happen at sometime:

injury system that has designations..injury system that affects players affect in game (kind of like current confidence system) along with 15 confidence system..have signing players who haven't been in the "system" effected more..no one picks up a playbook in a week..I know at times it is effect in 15 but should happen to all players:

                  Something's im sure I won't see:

removal of overall ratings..or hide them..allow us as the coach/owner/player to make the decisions from what we see in practice and pre-season..also rework rating system to use it to its fullest..ie we have 1-100 please use this whole system..and finally not sure it fits..weight/strength/size has to matter

Coaching carousel and teams using the plsybooks and schemes of their new coaches

A real depth chart not just the visual upgrade. Lavonte David is a Will lb not a right outside linebacker.

Ota/training camp mini games ala the ps2 days

Position battles( might be able to tie this into confidence system)

Wear and tear injury system based on specific body parts

These are in no particular order bc they are all needed to give cfm some life.

These are things that I would LOVE to see, but I also don't have much hope in them ever being implemented. The ability to hide ratings would increase my enjoyment of franchise mode so much. It would really make preseason so much more fun and meaningful. And using the full rating scale would also be great to help separate players.

I won't touch on it too much because I've gone over it before and I highly doubt it will ever become a high priority thing considering all the things CFM is missing but it's CFM presentation. Different broadcast elements for different games (TNF, SNF, MNF, etc.) and then a CFM ticker. I've covered both in a presentation thread I made and they already employ a ticker at the bottom that is constantly spewing out news and otherwise useless information. I'd much prefer that to something like a weekly show but I may be in the minority on that. But I do believe both can fall into the "fun" or "cool" factor they seem to want so much when it comes to CFM as well as making information way more accessible.

Exactly man, realism doesn't have to equate to tons of resources and attempting futuristic innovation, it can be accomplished in straight forward, basic ways.

I still remember your posts about various presentation graphics, among other things, to give the impression of various games being presented on different networks in CFM. During Ian's tenure they started something along those lines, with regard to varying presentation packages and also after he left but haven't yet fully fleshed that out to encompass what you have touted.

I'm with you 100% on the ticker too, with so much currently going on in CFM, incorporating a true in-game ticker, would allow for endless amounts of relevant info to scroll, beyond just that of other teams scores, making each CFM become far more alive and cohesive. It's odd and frustrating when goal updates and what not can be ticker scrolled but not more NFL realism centered info like injuries, recent signings, projected draft picks, etc. Pretty much taking what would normally be fleshed out more in a weekly wrap up show and having it streamlined into scrolling bite size info/updates. Even more odd if it's still the case that Madden contains a real world ticker displaying those thing but not one for the CFM virtual world.

Custom leagues, including playing with just 6 teams, and the ability to play custom schedules.

Detailed Gamelogs emailed after every game. Give users the info on every play, and somebody will crank out a good app for drilling down and analyzing information. Every play needs to be logged.

Screw formation subs. That's not sim. We need player packages that can be added to any formation on the fly.

Not just a Coaching Carousel, but head coaches impacting gameplay and roster building. Use the Coach Cards in MUT as inspiration.

It won't happen because the game is used to market the NFL, but the ability to have custom team names and uniform creators like in APFB 2K8. I want to play in a league with my friends teams, not NFL teams.
