EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -

First deep pass to Nelson. Db is running the route in front on Nelson, Nelson pulls of one handed semi odb catch. The db comes in to tackle and his teammate follows by tackling the first db.
That tipped pass int, no tracking no finding the ball. He just turns around and grabs it at the back of his knee level.
Rex commented that there is a limit placed on number of penalties called.
That was not impressive. Not at all.Comment

Tackling looked pretty awesome from what I saw so far. WR/DB stuff looked solid but I have to see it with current rosters.
I liked alot of the new little touches they added like the returner moving naturally before catching the ball. Like that they changed the QB intro animations from the old man walk. Some of the new qb movement looked pretty decent too.
With that said the throwing animations still looked mostly bad. The new stuff mixed with that old crap just doesnt complete the package. So far it looks like a heavily patched Madden 15. That's awesome for the people that loved 15, I just need them to work on the movement/animations a bit more before I'm back in with Madden.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Have to say... I'm impressed thus far. I have to tip my hat off to JP for trying his best to keep everyone calm while us hardcore gamers take apart the game with such little info at first. I'd like to apologize on my behalf (he even blocked me on Twitter lol).
Gameplay looks much improved. Obviously I wish we had updated equipment (5 years+ of the same gear) but gameplay always comes first in Madden IMO. I'm officially hyped.Comment

Glad you are liking the gameplay and I'm good with what Sage said, I can appreciate that he can see the improvements but he also feels it's not there yet, that's a good honest impression. What I and the developers hate is when people say it looks just like last year or that it's not any good because it's EA, that stuff is so old and played out. Give a constructive opinion, and try to be creative too.Comment

WR/DB interactions looked much better.
Tackling looked excellent. Loved some of the consecutive hit tackles we saw.
Some of those catches looked pretty.
Overall, it looks like they put in a lot of work this year. I still saw some negatives, but overall I saw more improvements.
Would have liked to see a PI call though.Comment

Thought you guys would like that, this is part of that attention to detail I was talking about, same with camera guys not wearing shorts, little stuff, terrible towels, there's a lot of that this year. Anyway, the best example of the cameraman following a TD I've seen was when I scored with OBJ and he did the whip and the cameraman stood next to him filming it the whole time

LOVE the way the camera zooms in on catches! Very nice touch!
Love the new Gang Tackling (this is the biggest improvement in the game in my opinion)
I didn't notice any morphing / player clipping during or after the plays which is SOOO nice to see!
The new catch animations are a thing of beauty
They improved the way players carry the ball & there seems to be a variation (notice how the DB was carrying the ball on that interception) Nice!
The physics look a lot cleaner & definitely makes the game look better & more polished
Head tracking looks to be as advertised & is immediately noticeable
I like that they paid attention to detail & cleaned things up (kickoff returners no longer sliding into place to receive the ball, better player awareness, etc..)
I still noticed some legacy issues but overall I'm impressed & definitely can't wait to get my hands on it. Presentation looks nice as well.Last edited by JKSportsGamer1984; 06-16-2015, 08:38 PM.Comment
