Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Alternatively, you can run a concept called Seattle out of a 3x1 formation and force the deep third player to make a commitment to one of the seams. Again, this a non-cheese tactic, so go for it.Alabama Crimson Tide | Jacksonville Jaguars

How do you make and share highlights? I dont see a save replay option when looking back at replays. Im on XboxONE if that matters.Comment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
In balanced formations, you can send the inside receiver on vertical route, such as "go", and send the outside receiver on a dig. The inside receiver will clear the force player, and the dig will come open at the end of the five step drop. It's not a cheese concept either, so you don't have to feel bad.

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Information Thread
This worked for me last year but 1) use RT to jump snap then let go of it. 2) choose which shoulder of the offensive lineman you wanna attack and create contact. 3) once you make contact let the left stick go back to neutral. 4) chose what side you wanna disengage ( works best going opposite shoulder from step 2) move the left stick that way and hit the power or finesse move button. Thanks!

Seattle is found in alot of the Shotgun and Ace formations that have 3 WRS to one side - it might not be in every playbook though. It's basicly an unbalanced 4 Verticals. Should be easy to find.Alabama Crimson Tide | Jacksonville Jaguars

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Information Thread
Anybody had any success with the new roll out locomotion mechanic for QBs ?
EA talked about it here back in June:
QUARTERBACK LOCOMOTION
The team completely re-worked QB pocket, scramble and rollout locomotion. Simply tap the RT/R2 button in the QB’s drop back, or when standing in the pocket. This allows players to “roll to pass,” and includes a completely reworked back shoulder roll out. These new mechanics work brilliantly with our boot and roll out plays.
One of the big benefits of roll out is that players don’t suffer the same accuracy penalties as “throw on the run.” The team also re-worked scramble (Hold RT/R2) to be more responsive, and allows players to toggle between pocket, rollout or scramble loco at the touch of a button. You can also branch out of any drop back instantly by tapping the LT button after the snap.Comment

Passing 101
- When picking a pass play your primary target is highlighted in red. This is the guy you should be looking for 2nd.
- Presnap you should pick a 3rd target. In the event your primary is covered he is the guy you throw to.
- Choose a third target (usually a quick route) in the event you're blitzed and need to get rid of the ball. (1st read)
Now to the good stuff.
In general, screens and draws are very effective against Cover 3. Their effectiveness depends on the quality of your opponents defensive line.
Below are concepts I like to run against Cover 3
Spacing aka hitches hitches every where. Like in all pass plays you should only be reading one side of the field.
In this case you're reading the OLB on the right. His job is the flats, leaving the outside WR Smith Jr open for an easy 5-10 yard gain.
Curl Concept
Same read. In some cases the Safety has the flats in others it's the OLB. In any case recognize the flat defender. If he covers the flat hit the Curl. If he covers the curl hit the flat. This particular play is great against man as well. If you read man the post(slot WR) is usually open.
In this case The OLB jumped to the flats leaving the Curl route wide open.
Flood Concept
Like the last 2 concepts you are reading the OLB. He has to make a decision to cover the flat or the corner. The CB has to respect the outside wr's deep route.
Once again the OLB chooses the flats leaving the corner route open.
This last concept I debated sharing. It's my favorite and after 200+ games online I'm the only one I've ever seen utilize it.
Switch concept
This concept involves the pump fake. Did you know you can pump fake? Did you know you can pump fake to specific targets?
While holding L1 hit the corresponding icon.
Switch concept involves an in route by the outside wr and a wheel route by the slot. In this play it's a post by the outside wr. The post against most cover 3s WILL be open if you throw it as soon as he breaks, BUT if you want the big yards pump fake to him(R1 + O)
The CB will bite on the post leaving the wheel route streaking up the sideline.
Happy Hunting!!
edit: I wrote this for 15 I haven't tested the switch concept in 16. It still feels weird to pump fake with L3Last edited by Hiro1; 08-26-2015, 04:42 AM.Psn: Plex-07Comment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
What the correct way to calling plays on offense and defense? Should u ask coach or pick plays and if u ask coach do you choose strategy communityComment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Any tips on defense? I feel I have no control. I'm picking plays and hoping for the best.
I haven't won a single DC game.
It is frustrating.

Also every RB I play has atleast one run a game where the go full on BEASTmode and break multiple tackles on their way to a long TD run. You can almost sense when it's coming.Comment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
I prefer selecting plays myself, because I can dig deep into the playbook. I usually use the coach calls and see if there's a play I like. Then to select my own if there isn't.Comment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Cover 3 is by far the most used defensive coverage online, Its in nearly every formation but its effectiveness out of 46 makes that formation extremely popular. If you cant beat cover 3 in madden 15 your'e going to have a very bad time. Here are some tips for beating that pesky Cover 3.
Passing 101

Comebacks usually work too, but I haven't quite figured out the best timing to pass these. I end up having to user the WR and come back to the ball myself.
I was not surprised to see people STILL sitting in cover 3 sky from the start to finish of a game. Such a boring way to play just seeing cover 3 all game.Last edited by Datninja619; 08-26-2015, 09:46 AM.Comment

Re: Madden 16 Teach Me How/Strategy Thread
Tis is a great write up here guys. These concepts pretty much work in 16. Maybe even more effective, because of the new catching mechanics.

At the start of the game it took me a quarter to realize he was not coming out of it and unfortunately the Saints run game is not especially strong so it was not forcing him to bring 8 in the box.
So first order to attack Cover 3......IF you can setup the run to force them out of it. If you can't, then you are forced to attack its weaknesses.
Short outside throws, crossing routes in zone gaps, seams, and only 4 man rush.
Generally I like to come out in a 3 WR 2 HB shotgun set then hot route to max protect to attack downfield seams & gaps. This will give you 7 blockers which should give you plenty of time to look downfield. If you plan on taking advantage of the short routes then like mentioned by Hiro, look for your flat + curl routes.Last edited by Phobia; 08-26-2015, 02:20 PM.Comment
