Thanks for explaining. I have bought Madden for 16 straight years and 19 times total, so maybe I am part of the problem but I also have the perspective to comment.
This is all very unfortunate. I am not one to call people lazy or make assertions about things of which I have no knowledge. But the bottom line is that there are certain things that we need to accept.
1) A decision was made a beginning with CCM to rebuild franchise mode, and the focus of that mode is not sim. That is not to say, they they wont make an effort to throw the sim crowd a bone or whatnot but sim is certainly not the goal. There are far too many examples I could give to prove this, but I think we all know it.
2) The goal of CFM is to make a fun mode that is accessible to casual and new players, but also has something for the hardcore and sim crowd.
3) CFM (and Madden in general) suffer from a lack of direction. For example, Year 1- Build CCM. Year 2-Add Owner Mode. Year 3-Build on Owner Mode. Year 4- De-emphasize Owner Mode.
4) All games have bugs, but the only real additions to CFM this year were scouting and drive goals. Drive goals seem to have broken the game. And the incoming rookies will, in a few years, ruin the mode. This is not "buggy", this is a cataclysmic failure by any metric.
5) The way this game was released is not acceptable.
6) Either the Madden team is not big enough, dont have enough resources or, despite what I assume are their best efforts, cannot get the job done.
