I'm probably in the minority here but I honestly don't believe it was the patch or tuner update that ruined anything. I've only gotten positive results from the tuner and the patch within Play Now. I played one of the best games yet of M16 this morning. I feel like this is strictly is a CFM issue. It seems like it has way too many moving parts. Drive goals and confidence, more specifically, just throw everything out of whack. Ratings (and traits?) are constantly changing, moving, fluctuating, etc. and it creates an unstable mess. And one of those things goes wrong and it creates absolutely nasty side effects (sim engine issue creates 50 point drops in attributes). CFM has been pretty messed up from its inception, as has confidence. Between every issue it's had with XP, confidence, and game prep it needs to be stripped down to strictly a season mode and built from the ground up (again) because it seems like nothing works properly at all.

This pretty much sums it up for me. Play now with tuner and patch play brilliantly for me. Cfm once you get in to it and the confidence stuff take over plays like a completely different game and not in a good way.

How hard is it for EA just go back to the way franchise mode was a few years ago? Keep owner mode, get rid of all the other crap and if the game plays like it does on play now we got the best game we've gotten a long time

I will never understand the issues EA has when it comes to tuning or patching.

I'm being sarcastic obviously with the QB percentages but how does this happen?? I shouldn't ask that because I already know the answer. Remember the whisper game when you were like 5 or 6? Whisper a phrase into classmate ear, they then whisper it to someone else, this then continues around the room. The last person then says out loud the phrase, which will be different from when it started. The more people involved the more things get distorted. Apply this to developing a video game and multiple hands involved, you get this kind of stuff.

I think it's much more like, with real time embedded simulations, one thing has so much connectivity to other things, that changing one things actually ends up effected so many other areas of the simulation. It has to be very difficult to balance the gameplay/statistics of a football simulation. I don't see this as a whisper game where something gets constantly reinterpreted. I can see how WR/DB interactions could have an unwanted side effect on QB completion %.

I agree with you. Put the same play now game on the CFM and we are in heaven.

That's what I mean though, I think it really is there. But it becomes so convoluted by all the ratings changes and everything else that just doesn't work properly. I don't think CFM was ready for more stuff like this to be added. It didn't even work well last year and yet they piled more onto it. If you took away everything Confidence and Goals wise that start changing things so radically, I think CFM would resemble Play Now almost identically which might be wishful thinking but CFM's extras and basics haven't ever seemed to work correctly and I feel like this isn't any different than that.

hopefully this is relevant enough, but as far as tuner goes, and deleting it from the xbox1, can this be done? i have everything saved on an external HD, and just can't rmember being in a situation to see individual files.

.....this coming from a guy who is waiting until the roster update to play cfm post patch....

I'm gonna give offline cfm with no tuner a shot. Can't Sim to see the results, because we're talking about game play issues at qb. Let's see after a few games if the qb is still funky, of if it's like play now.

For the confidence issues, isn't there a way to reset a team's confidence levels in CFM to 50 in online CFM? I thought I read that somewhere.

If so, just reset every team's confidence each week.

There is a confidence reset option for user-controlled teams, but I believe it only moves teams with Confidence below 50 back up to 50, last I heard it does not reset any player's confidence back to 50 if player in question has 50+ Confidence.

How do you plan to play then?

Right now i´m just looking forward and getting more options on how to play. I feel the same way you do and i´m not sure how fun it will be so i´m looking for ideas.

I don't think there's much question that confidence causes at least some of the wonkiness people see.

I'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination, but I do work with code on a regular basis. And I know if you have two pieces of code giving the same instruction, it will often cause issues. So if there was something in the tuner that was replicated in the patch, it would make sense to me that it could cause some issues.

I'm going to start my dynasty this weekend, without the tuner. Hopefully not having the tuner will ease some of the issues. But I highly doubt it fixes everything so long as confidence is still in play.

This is Crazy , i give it up to Rex and the Dev team ,Best Madden gameplay wise ever! Well mistake happen but they have to get out infront of these issue and give us a plan . People love this game and shelled out our money ! Im sure there just as frustrated trying to get it right . Alot of Cfm on hold again My League was suppose to start now Saturday after the roster update tomorrow . Now im wasnt in a rush we normally wait for the first patch and roster update ! But now the the new bugs ! Im worried the guys in my league will start to lose interest and play other games . Please atleast let us know you guys are on top of this ? With a solid plan ?

1# Qb inaccuracy is gone? needs to be tuned back to were it was before patch
2# QB Awareness that lead to scrambling non tuning qb's? needs to be tuned back to were it was before patch
3# Confident is still messed up give us a toggle to turn it off ! There could be alot of tuning involved let's just turn it off !

Even the devs themselves said that the code for CFM has gotten so complex because of new stuff being added or put on to of old stuff etc that adding anything will have unpredictable results. Thats why we don't have player editing according to them, because editing players messes up something else.

So its no surprise that a tuner that is supposed to affect db/wr interactions only possibly messes up the QBs somehow.

This option is only viable on ONLINE CFM. i don´t play that because i play coop. And this won´t even work since like he said its only for those below 50. (i don´t know how you can be below 50 at this point). I went to confidences changes and basically most player are getting 5 to 8 points per game.

last year my team was all 0 mostly because it asked me to do 2 picks per game, 3 sacks per game, goals very hard to achieve. now they are. more like "play 1 down", "finished a game", complete 1 pass. lol I´m just kidding,I´m laughing but i want to cry. I,m really worried, at this point i don´t know how to play the game. I know i won´t enjoy it the way it is now.

I have not downloaded the patch yet. Would i be better off trying to run a offline single player cfm pre-patch/tuner with all of the pre-patch issues or just download it and hope for the best (knowing it will likely be a mess)
