Re: Cheating Madden CPU
Gotta also love how the cpu rarely ever takes sacks because even when you do get to them in time they simply throw the ball to the ground
They also have a very bad habit of making impossible throws. Especially when they are forced out of the pocket where they can still sling the ball to the opposite side of the field where the Wr is 30 yards deep all while they are a right handed Qb running to the left
So irritating especially on 3rd downsComment

Re: Cheating Madden CPU
I didnt lose. But the CPU was obviously cheating me so i will replay the match up regardless of who wins. My first season ended 9-7 and no playoffs. It was one of the best seasons i ever played in madden. None of those games were like this. Maybe an occasional drive here and there with a little cheesing but nothing out of control. But the end of this one game in particular was just entirely unfair. Strategy and sportsmanship aside it seems like if you play too aggressive you get punished for it by the AI. It seemed more prevelant in prior games but i saw it in this matchup. My theory is that the CPU is occasionally given boosts in order to match the users play. Most of the time i play balanced and conservative anyway and the game tends to play better in general. I really dont know what triggers this to happen sometimes but it certainly happens. CPU guys breaking tackles on top of tackles and catching 10 foot jump balls and my defense just totally blowing coverages left and right. Again not saying this is every game because i think most games play out very nicely. But i guess those guys that witness it and study the replays know what im saying.Comment

Re: Cheating Madden CPU
I find that the cpu does take sacks: but only on 1st or 2nd downs normally. 3rd downs? Always seem to convert, whether it's 3rd & short or 3rd & long. Even if they throw it short behind the markers, the receiver or RB will always break just enough tackles to get past the markers. It's extremely irritating.
I've seen other posts about the cpu going into overdrive in the 4th quarter and I've seen that many times - even in the final two minutes. Bomb TDs against soft coverage; onside kicks then recovered, that sort of thing.
Long FGs into the wind don't seem to be a problem either.
And I often see cpu QBs completing 15/17 passes in a game. Perhaps the most annoying thing of all is the way the cpu QB will often run away from the LoS, turn and throw in one movement and complete a pass to someone where the QB would have had no way of knowing was there. Unless he has eyes in the back of his head, of course. It's all about money.

The first part is absolutely infuriating
You can stop them the first 2 downs but once they get to 3rd down someone is always wide open and like you said they always seem to break tackles to get it
Only time you ever stop them is if it 3rd and really long and just happen to get pressure on them
I'm to the point I don't even bother to control a safety like I normally do because the cpu will rarely if ever throw towards your side of the fieldComment

Re: Cheating Madden CPU
There is a Momentum engine in this game... The higher the difficulty the more noticeable. All Madden is pretty severe both ways.
When Momentum is against you:
- You over/under throw receivers
- Those bad throws become picks very easily
- You drop passes
- You get holding calls on good plays
- Increased chance of fumbling
When for you:
- All of the above work for you and then some
On All madden in franchise on the road.... You literally have to survive entire quarters of momentum until you can big play it to shift to yourself. You can come back then from 20 pts or more down as everything works to your favor.
I actually like this as it adds a level of intrigue to your franchise games that otherwise are uneventful blowouts that give you no challenge. You have to recognize when it is against you and play accordingly....Comment

Re: Cheating Madden CPU
Ok so “what’tha HELLS goin’ on around heeeaaahh?!?!”
Please excuse my poor impression of the great Vince Lombardi for a moment, while I wax WTH about slider settings. Can someone explain to me, why when I have the CPU QB ACC slider set to 48 that they actually complete MORE passes? I’m talking 90-95% completion. Seriously, in my 2nd year Chargers CFM, I’m currently undefeated and go up against a 1-10 Bucs team and it went to the wire! Which I don’t mind if the game was even, but it wasn’t. Winston didn’t even start, Mike Glennon does and WHILE GETTING SACKED, throws 30-yard bombs for TDs, multiple times. Or he’ll scramble to avoid sacks and throw across his body all the way to the other side of the field, off his back foot, and was regularly completing 20-30 yarders. I even went into instant replay just to see and yep, exactly as I’m describing to you now. Last 3 games against “inferior” teams and all 3 came down to the wire, and all had similar QB play. The game before the Bucs was the Titans. Mariota throwing for 400 yards and again, same almost perfect passing.
So, what am I doing wrong?Unyielding Resolve has no Conqueror
