The 2min offense has always been a issue in madden and it's something I don't know if a video game can recreate that scenerio accurately.

Sad part is that it's a big part of the NFL but in madden the 2min scenerio is way off from being realistic.

I think there are minor tweaks that can be done to make it more realistic. Make guys run back to the huddle slower, keep accelerated clock in for huddling situations

That's true as it really is only a problem for special teams within that two minute window. And I totally agree, I've used a house rule where I have to use no huddle at all times under two minutes just to make it realistic

Kind of going off base but eventually I'd like to be able to set a range of times that the play clock accelerates to to simulate players or calls getting in late and actually making delay of games and wasting timeouts a factor for both User and AI. Same with getting rid of the or having the ability to turn off the defensive pick play clock in CPU games but these are things for another day.

I thought 2k5 did this well but it could be remembering wrong. It doesnt seem that complicated to me.

Teams take 15-20 seconds to line up after a play? It should take that long in Madden if someone makes a play and the play doesnt stop the clock.

The AI should be programmed to call plays that have mostly routes going to the sidelines if they have no time outs.

The AI should focus on settling for a FG if its inside the 30 and its down by a FG or less.

Speaking of the last 2 minutes, I have a question for people in this thread:

if accelerated clock is ON, you want it on during the last 2 minutes of halves/games, right? Currently it turns off and I think it's the worst.

NO!!! That is actually something madden has done correctly!!!! Lol. U want the acc clock on to simulate the actual huddle time and play calling aspect of a full game. But, in last 2 mins of half/game (depending on the score, of course), most teams will run a 2 min offense. Sometimes this is 'hurry up', but sometimes this is just quicker play calling, imo. So, I want the ability to choose 'exactly' how much time I am taking off the clock in those situations to determine whether I continue to try and score 1 more TD or FG before the half OR if I simply want to run out the clock and not let my opponent get the ball. If I want to 'accelerate' the clock at this point and run out more time, I can quickly choose 'chew clock'. So, for me, absolutely NO on this.

                Madden has this now.

What I'm saying to the above poster is if you huddle up the clock will accelerate like it should, to simulate guys running in and out of the huddle. You can no huddle and change formations, but not personnel.

College football isn't the perfect analog to the nfl since the clock stops after a first down but this is a great real-time video of a 3 minute drill:

At 4:49 in the video the ball is snapped and Bortles completes a pass where the receiver goes down at 4:58 in the video. It's a 29 yard gain. The team is set again at 5:11 and the ball is snapped at 5:14 (25 total seconds). Pass complete for 11 yards and play ends at 5:20. Team is set at 5:31, ball snapped at 5:36 (16 total seconds).

In Madden you can go from downed to snap in like 7-9 seconds. It's way too fast.

If Madden players didn't get to the LOS way too fast, this would be cool. But 2 Madden minutes is like 4-5 minutes NFL minutes.

It's realistic if you're running out the clock. But you get way too many plays if you're hurrying up. That Madden Fun Factor...

I feel u on the 'it CAN be done too fast', but for me, I play 15 min qtrs with acc clock of 14. So, in your example the NFL can do it faster than MY acc clock setting, so I would lose out (big time, actually). I only play offline CFM, FYI, as well, so I'm not talking about PVP. I, legit, don't 'cheat' the CPU, either, in these moments. Lol. I actually let some time off the clock when I don't go full on 'hurry-up'. So, often I might snap the ball at 25 secs depending on how quickly I find the play, I want. By madden 'forcing' the 2 min drill to ignore my acc clock, I believe I achieve more realistic overall huddle times. If they didn't do this, I would absolutely have to alter the clock during 2 mins to get appropriate time to huddle. So, their current system works for me. They could add yet another toggle for us, however (acc clock on - 2 min ON/OFF). So, that might be something.

The toggle is ultimately the way to go but if Madden had actual running on/off field mechanics your way wouldn't work. You'd have to wait for the position grouping to change. This is what accelerated clock simulates.

Also, this affects the CPU because they are able to call plays in the huddle when they otherwise wouldn't, also due to the accelerated clock settings currently in the game.

NFL teams don't typically change personnel groupings in the final 2 minutes of games unless the clock has stopped. Having accelerated clock off during this time period allows the user and cpu to do so, which is unrealistic.

Yeah, again, it 'allows' this, but I don't take advantage of it. My 2 min drill consists of 3 WR 1 RB 1 TE, period. and, I want/expect them to be my starters. So, I still expect all of those players to stay the same, HOWEVER, I may want to change the specific formation (trips, QB under center, Shotgun, etc), and the 'hurry up' option doesn't allow me to do this (if it does, it's quite clunky). So, I am, personally, simulating either a quick huddle or no huddle with NO player substitution, but quite possibly a formation change. So, again, the current system allows me to do this and I don't 'cheat' the CPU by bringing in diff player personnel with the different formations. I don't bring in I formation on 3rd and 1. If I want to run, I continue with 3WR and simply try a run play or screen.

Pretty sure you can push left or right on the DPad in the no-huddle playcalling window and you'll be switching between different formations with your personnel grouping.

And, yes, actually, you're right, the CPU DOES take adv of this!!! Lol. So, maybe that is a small issue to me. I did give up a FG at the end of a half once by the CPU throwing a completion with less than 5 secs on the clock, and they magically got their FG unit on the field. Lol. So, yeah, that was a BS 3 points I gave up.
