It's definitely possible to do, I'm just thinking the feature would be more complicated if they wanted it to operate in a good fashion.
This could also be a problem, yes. To my knowledge, no videogame has ever had a feature like this, and I think this is part of the reason why as well.

LOL, ok - let's take a step back. Maybe this is the sort of "paralysis by analysis" that tends to happen at Tiburon in certain areas This is WAY simpler than what you are describing.

Let's start with their watch list they made. You can add players to the watch list BEFORE the draft. Let's just call it an ordered "list". This list is simply an extension of the user. It is not a "smart" list. It does not need any logic behind it. So let me describe the user scenarios or stories here.

      1. As a user I want to be able to create an ordered draft board that selects players for me in the case where I cannot be present for the draft.

      2. As a user I want to be able to delegate my picks to my draft board and then subsequently to the cpu's choice if all players on my draft board are no longer available.

This has nothing to do with what my team needs are, or where I may be lacking in positions. If I attend a draft as a user, nothing is stopping me from selecting 7 QBs in the draft. That is my choice. The same goes for my draft board. If I only have 5 players on my board, the draft happens and I delegate to my board, if those 5 players are gone, then the logic simply works the way it does now, with respect to picking players, and it picks a player for me the same way it does now.

The draft board is a list that is 100% an extension of the user. There is no need for logic behind it. It's not a "smart" board. The game already does automatic selections for you. The only difference here is that if a player on the user's draft board is available, it will pick from that list FIRST before attempting to auto pick a player based on the cpu logic.

      Does this make sense?

I would like an advanced draft board. Where you give each prospect a grade, like top 10, 1st round, 2nd round ect. Also, set the max players at a certain position you'd want to take. So for QB's you could put 1, that way if you put a bunch of QB's at the top and can't make draft the CPU will only take one, and ignore the rest, as the draft progresses. Clint, being a former NFL player must have knowledge of how teams set up their boards, so when we finally get one it won't be bare bones, as in fill up the board and the AI will always take top player.

Maybe I'm missing or not understanding something, when I think about an auto draft/draft board for Madden, I'm not thinking of something deep at first. I wonder couldn't they just have where you could pick the position and system for each round vs an order for actual players.

What I mean is, there are 7 rounds in the NFL draft, anyone using this auto draft feature, would simply need to pick a position and system for each round. Any rounds they don't specify would be the default AI pick.

Round 1: QB Vertical Offense Round 2: MLB Base 4-3 Round 3: DT Attacking 4-3 Round 4: Default, etc. The team AI will auto draft who it determines to be the best player at that position, from that type system. This makes it a fairly simple board with only up to 7 slots to preset, plus it removes any chance of having too many of any position a User might not want. For example, if you preset QB Vertical Offense for the first round, your team is guaranteed to draft one in the that round.

I think what should be remembered is this is an alternative for Users that don't manually draft for whatever reason and doesn't need to be a huge fleshed out feature, at least not initially. If a user can't make the draft, that's a disadvantage and should be, imo I don't expect some auto draft feature so deep from the jump, it negates the need for anyone to bother manually drafting. Same thing for those that are into having more control over the CPU teams drafts, I think this would provide a simple initial outline vs an intricate auto micromanagement.

It absolutely, positively does not need to be nor should it be even one iota more complicated than this.

In Madden 17, are you able to have players play at any position like a WR starting at QB or a Defensive Lineman being subbed into the Oline. For example, Joe Webb is a QB, WR and KR but in Madden he is either listed at only QB or WR and is only usable as such. Are you now able to have him as a Wide Receiver but start him at Quarterback as well like you could in NCAA 14?

This can be fixed by putting the max number of players you would accept drafting at each position. Therefore if you put just 1 QB and you put three at the top of the draft, once 1 is drafted than the others fall off the board. Logic fixed. It is not perfect because if you put 2 QBs as the max to draft then you still may draft 2 in the first 2 rounds which is not ideal.

I just want a draft board to assist me while I am present drafting. Makes it so much easier.

                        18. No half-sleeves, player models about the same as last year.
No half-sleeves? Jason Witten has worn these his entire career so I guess I'm left with choosing something else in place for that equipment? After all of these years they remove something as simple as half-sleeves? I guess they don't care if players get arm burns anymore!

No. They have the forearm sleeves but not the above-bicep ones.
