Without penalties (also fatigue and injury risk), you reduce the game and remove natural balancers to gameplay. Cover 2 man press overuse can be eliminated with turning on defensive holding penalties.

Staying in the pocket too long or excessive rollouts penalized with holding.

Excessive hot routing and preplay adjustment penalized with false starts and offsides.

Leave B. Browner in the game, he prolly will get a penalty. Beast edge rusher prolly can cause a holding call on a poor Tackle.

This allows players to impact the game other than win/loss interaction logic that has to be balanced due to lack of penalties, injury risk, and fatigue to regulate the game. Want to see more punting, add penaltie, injury, fatigue....less success at cheesy play, add penaltie, injuries, fatigue...

As I've said before, u add draft Champs ranked, salary cap ranked...ADD simulation ranked playlists with injuries, penalties, and fatigue represented.

put in penalties injuries fatigue etc. It's football things happen that can break or make a game. I don't mind randomness as long as ratings matter.
It would force players to actually make adjustments to counter opponent and momentum swing.

Can't even play online with out having to deal with cheese fest. I want those moves to be weight heavy so when they don't convert it forces user to reconsider approach.

I don't care about online ranked. Let everything be error-free outside of user control. No matter what all it will be is a race to find the new exploits or whatever way to game the game.

Well it seems the football sim crowd has completely overwhelmed the opposition in this poll.

Odd though... I have definitely seen PI called in my online CFM.

Specifically in Draft Champions and Ultimate Team, CPU-triggered penalties never occur; those modes are specifically tuned (speaking to various game settings) towards user skill being the arbiter of the game's outcome to the greatest extent possible. User-triggered penalties may still occur but that's it.

Franchise mode games - online or offline - always features all types of penalties, dependent on penalty slider settings of course.

As to the result of this poll - consider that the presence of the MUT community on this forum is basically zero. The audience on this forum disproportionately represents "sim" players. This result was predictable.

Oh I see. I never play those modes. In my personal opinion they are massive resource drains on the game and cause the lamest of players to gravitate to them (these guys know much more about Madden than football, is what I'm getting at). On the other hand I understand that they are a cash cow for EA. Personally I wish NFL Blitz would come back to draw those people away. Ugh I hate those modes so much...

But as I said they keep EA's wallet fat enough to give the resources needed to focus on real football features ahaha.

I think draft champions and salary ranked beta might be interesting and are somewhat more 'realistic' than pure MUT. MUT kills me in that at some point u r just playing with all 99 ovr players!! Not much 'realism' in that. I play FIFA online and their online match making has changed over the years. I used to play just 'normal' online matches against anybody. I would simply play with the current roster of my fav team, and would occasionally get matched against some guy with all 99 players. Lol. Needless to say, I would normally lose those matches, and be like, wtf??? He's got Ronaldo, messi, etc all at 99, no wonder.

                    Yes because its sim.
But also because I can't stand the fact that you can utilize pass interference as a tactic for defending the pass. I really don't understand their logic saying online players don't want to be penalized for incidental contact. Plenty of people online use this to their advantage and tactically interfere with the receiver. How is that better than getting an occassional PI call?
