Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
My personal take on the whole thing is, if Madden would copy inch by inch of network presentation, after a few times I would button press to get to the kickoff, even though others would like to watch everything till KO.
When my team plays. all I care about is the KO. And that is true for the video game too.
Just my personal take.Comment

Then they can bring in the Fox NFL Sunday crew to do a pregame... ah, my fantasy... Funny thing is in Madden 98 they did exactly that with James Brown anyway. Days gone by...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVeugEBhhBw (unfortunately there is a keyboard playing throughout this)
And here they had the Fox NFL Sunday song.
I watche'd the video from my phone so it wasn't that clear, but it looked as if the intro video was all computerized clips. Not sure why they can't have bunch of generated clips (a few qbs throwing, wrs catching, rbs running, etc and just change the numbers and names to players on your team) . The gane could choose 5 or 6 of the clips randomly each game. I remember playing 2k and I scored a td with Dieon Branch. The game went to a cut screen and 2 fans were holding a sign saying soemone about Branch. I'm guessing it cold be done similarly in a cut scene intro.Last edited by ForUntoOblivionSoar∞; 06-19-2016, 12:43 PM.Originally posted by Therebelyell626I am going to create a team called "the happy town fundament rapscallions" and hurt your already diminishing image

Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
One more thought on this:
Are people really advocating to limit the video game because of the limitations a real broadcast has? Like someone said earlier, if ESPN, FOX or CBS had the chance to do lineups like in Madden, they'd jump on it.
If the NFL would allow them to set go-pros on player's helmets, that would revolutionize the way football is watched.
If they would be allowed to have cameras all around the field at all heights without interfering with ball trajectory, they'd get all sorts of crazy close-ups, and not only on replays.
There's only two reasons why this doesn't happen:
Access from the players and player safety
A video game doesn't have this limitations so Madden is basically providing what networks dream of having, so I can't understand what the issue is.
Complaining about the broadcast elements missing some features and depth is one thing, and actually a fair complaint since we've had flyovers, great stadium shots from the blimp and team entrances not so long ago... But complaining that the game is not 100% copying what a network does is quite weird imo
I think presentation is the one aspect that will benefit the most from the Frostbite switch in the future, so one can only hope the missing depth to the presentation and feel of the game is coming in the near future
For me, I watch the game of football through my TV. I see the overlays, the wipes, the stats, the camera angles, the works. I like that look because I know I've got the best seat in the house already, I'm on my damn couch, lol. This is why I don't feel a need to push the envelope in broadcasting is necessary.
It's just personal preference. The NFL I see is the one on my TV, the NFL that EA wants me to see - is in a video game, and the immersion of any simulated experience I have is burst when I see unrealistic camera angles or presentations.
I just prefer things to be as close to what I see on my TV, as much as possible. I don't think that's a bad thing and it doesn't give anyone ,who feels the same way, the notion they aren't interested in pushing the limits. It just means we are creatures of habits, and we like things the way they are when it comes to our sports. Please make it look like that. Seems simple enough, right?
It's not necessarily complaining, it's more so like the same question I ask every year, what is so hard about making any sports game how we see it on TV? There's plenty of data and reference points, I guarantee you, there will be quite the positive feedback. Look at the "Game that must not be named" and the cult following there.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
I understand the no-limitations mentality, especially in broadcasting. EA have definitely changed up different perspectives throughout the years from focusing on fans (remember Create-A-Fan?) to these pre-game player intros.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
I don't see what the problem is with the intros. I think it's cool that madden has its own unique thing that they're doing. I mean we'd have people that would be complaining to that its too similar to cbs or fox. We haven't even heard any of the commentary that goes along with it Just pictures and a 2 second clip.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
The question that just pops up in my head is..."Why don't they just show they're able to replicate the big network broadcast package first....then go to the inventions?"
I kind of always default to thinking that the reluctance of this must be because it feels like "tracing" versus coming up with anything authentic, like maybe it's too easy to do something that is so clearly easy to duplicate/mimic - that they want the challenge of being innovative.
I guess my approach to all sports video games, and the whole package if you will, is that the beauty is found in doing the simple things correctly first, then go from there. No need to reinvent the wheel, just tighten the loose screws.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 17 Video - Broadcast Presentation Package
I'm getting a kick out of all the people who, for years, said "I don't care what they do with silly presentation stuff, just give me gameplay!"
By all accounts, the gameplay is pretty solid this year...yet here are people complaining about that "silly presentation stuff"...nobody's ever happy with Madden, are they?
