If your waiting for a huge graphical jump id skip this year and wait until madden moves to frostbite. Either next year or the year after.

That was a huge jump for madden that year graphically. I think they updating the lighting this year. Prob not a big change , but if you look at madden every year and take a team at a certain time of day and see the lighting and how it differs from year to year, you do notice a slight graphical improvement

looks the same as 16, graphically other sport titles made bigger leap on this current gen... Madden still has a cartoony look

Only when the players are moving, because the animations are
horrible...

I agree Madden still has a slightly cartoony look compared to say NBA2k, but I more so wish they had full body scans in Madden, I play on broadcast cam and from that angle all players look the same size, and that's understandable but you should at least be able to tell height differences on the field even when its not zoomed in close.

I was going to say the same thing. Signature styles is why NBA 2K looks so good and fluid and it's a shame this hasn't seen the gridiron....yet. Would help a ton bcthese good graphics go to waste in motion a lot of the time.

Agreed that it looks like M16, but I don't think we'll see a difference until Madden goes to Frostbite.

2k can almost look real if you glance at it. Several times when I was playing 2k people would come in the room and say "I thought that was a real game." NOONE EVER says that about Madden.

Same. I've had friends say which game are you watching. I would say "Um, this is a game that I'm playing.", and they'd be blown away.

The same thing for MLB The Show.

I am excited for the strategic innovations in this year's game, but I'm definitely turned off by the graphics. It looks like Madden wants to put this weird shiny coating on players that distorts their graphical representation.

To be fair, I thought the lighting in The Show looked bad until this year, which renders indoor and outdoor parks alike with stunning beauty and fidelity.

I think what Madden needs is the implementation of The Show's lighting tech. That would do wonders.

New player models are also needed, but great lighting goes a long way toward offsetting deficiencies in player modeling. The Show still has relatively poor player models, but the great lighting makes them tolerable.

The scanned helmets and facemasks look great and add a lot for me. As long as they keep scanning pieces of equipment graphics it's a nice improvement. The two biggest areas are lighting and player models though. Those are the only two areas I have issues with really. A lot of the colors look washed out and there isn't enough "pop" at all IMO. And then player models still have some room for improvement as well.

I think playing with the broadcast cams help those games out a bit, but Madden's doesnt feel like that when in broadcast so I totally get what youre saying.

Frostbyte will fix the animation problems and you will get a graphically improvement. They chose FIFA this year to make the jump because it is the more popular game worldwide. Madden should jump next year.

I am not that hardcore of a player to notice the little gameplay changes. What I do notice is no graphical improvement and same animations. To me this looks like madden 16. For the ones that played it, is there any graphical improvement?

instead of graphics improvements e should be aiming for animations improvement. Running animation is awful. they never fix/change it since ever.
