Mixed results so far with Steelers, Seems CPU sheds blocks very easy on default and I cant get off blocks as user. Wish I knew what play book you all are using.

Defenders don't scrape and swarm to the ball. Also they take bad angles and sometimes literally run the wrong way.

I made a video about this the other day.

I realize I'm not using the best team but averaging 0.3 YPC isn't really realistic for anyone.

On the other side, though, my D-line (both user and CPU controlled) can't get away from the O-line at all on runs or passes. I think I've had 6 total sacks in the 10+ games I've played, none of which have come from a user-controlled player.
I'm having the same exact problem on both issues. As soon as i hand the ball off (playing on All-Pro using Dallas) i am getting hit behind the line.

I can't get any pressure with the D-line as well. I have no idea what i'm doing wrong.

Stretch plays are still hideously broken and you'll break one all the way for a touchdown every few plays or so. Really no reason to run inside ever with how badly the cpu defends outside runs unless your running back is insanely slow.

I've had a few online games where me and my opponent exclusively ran stretch plays the entire game. Neither of us could stop each other and it was quite hilarious how the run blocking is so good on these stretch plays. The stretch play is just so overpowered this year after being non-existent for quite some time. There is never an in between when it comes to stuff like this.

I played 1 game on All-Pro (Armor & Swords sliders) and have played 4 on All-Madden (Charters sliders).

I don't have the exact totals on me ATM.
Game 1 Kenyan Drake ran for 320 yards against the Rams.
Game 2 he ran for over 200 against the Panthers.
Game 3 he ran for over 200 against the Seahawks.
Game 4 he ran for over 170 against the Cowboys.
Game 5 he ran for over 160 against the Cardinals.

So far he leads the league with almost 1200 yards rushing in 5 games.

I'm on all madden and have lowered the user skill run blocking almost all the way down. But I see tons of wide open space whenever I hand the ball off. Not sure how to fix it, but I'm going to keep trying a combination and seeing if it works.

I was killing it on the ground as well, so I really dropped the run blocking (I think I have it set around 25 or 30), and I limit myself to 1 outside run per drive. It's just too easy to bounce it outside and pick up 10-15 yards.

I actually noticed this yesterday, in my CFM with my power rb.
The team can just keep tossing the ball out to the Running back and you will get a score. My player is really slow, so it actually reduces the chance of a big gain ever time. But about two or three times a game I can go off on a big gain or a td. I have had a couple of 80-90 yard touchdowns this way as of late.

As a sidenote to the Running game being too easy.

                    Has anyone tried screen passes?

On say 80% of my screen passes in CFM my HB will do a big gain or a td. It is completely overpowered.

The times Defence covers the Running back (being my player in this case) the QB will just get sacked instead of trying to get rid of the ball.
Even with the possible sack chance there seems to be very little variation on the screen pass. Its either a big gain/TD or a sack.

It's funny you guys are having these huge run totals I'm using the Bucs as a practice CFM and have played 4 games with A&S sliders and have yet to have one game over 100 yards rushing. But in general i think I've had maybe 1-2 games over 100 yards rushing with slider adjustments. The holes are there, they just get closed quick. So have fun running wild guys I'm envious!

                        Re: Running Game Too Easy?

I wonder if this isn't some kind of glitch? A friend and I have a CFM together, so same settings. He is running with David Johnson, I have Lacy. My O-line would be slightly better than his (I invested heavily in Oline in the draft - all are rated higher than 85, some well higher). I believe Johnson and Lacy are both around 84 OVR.

He is routinely running for over 200 yards in a game, while I'm having trouble breaking 100 at 4 ypc. You could pass this off as a skill thing, but I watch his recorded plays and his blocks consistently work, while I'm blown up in the backfield almost every play. I don't hold speed burst until I'm through the hole, etc.

I also have noticed that he still has the on-screen arrow in front of his ballcarrier and I don't. I can't imagine that would make a difference, but maybe? I'll have to try it tonight. Just throwing it out there because it doesn't make much sense that some are complaining that running the ball is OP and some can't run to save their life. Thoughts?

Yes, too easy. Stretch and power O runs are overpower, especially on heavy formations. Try HB Stretch from Strong I Y-Off and Pistol strong fomartions. Screen passes too...Try WR Screen from gun empty sets. Watch WR's and TE's blocking downfield...obviously run blocking is overpower.

I'm playing on all pro with the Rams and I'm pretty garbage at running. I can manage about 100 yards a game but unless my line opens up a huge hole for me I get bogged down going through the line.

I don't use sprint until I'm through the hole and I try and use R1 to get skinny, which doesn't alway work. It just feels like my RB is stuck in mud going through the line, I can't hit cut back lanes because or adjust to a new hole without getting blown up.

I've been increasing Gurleys speed and acceleration and that's helped a little, but I feel like something just isn't clicking yet with the run game

I'm of the school that I always have to bump run blocking up. I hate to do it in fear of making it to easy, but I struggle otherwise.

I'm really surprised some are struggling with the run game. The stretch play whether cpu or user is just too good.
