One fix, One patch, I believe would stop most of the negitive post.

EA... All it would take is one major fix and the game would improve about 70 to 80 percent. This is basically for Off line franchise play but could even benefit OL play. SIMPLY allow us to use CUSTOM GAME PLANS for the CPU. Open that up and you would make a lot of Madden frustrated people happy. It is not a cure all, but it would sure improve the game. I understand not allowing custom game plans in OL play because I assume you feel people would abuse it somehow. But for Offline franchise players, it would be a game changer. At least we could work around the other issues. I realize the CPU play calling is ridiculous, but if we could just adjust the stars, take out some plays, tweak their plans, What a huge difference that would be. I cannot see any reason what so ever why we can't.. PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR.. Does anyone agree.?

Man you're going to need much more than that for franchise to work properly

Yeah if we could assign custom playbooks and gameplans the game would be that much better. It's already a great game, it would pretty much be perfect.

It would sure be a great start. That is the biggest issue I personally see right now, I know there are others, but work a rounds and sliders can help with those. Nearly every game has more rushing yd's and rushing attempts than passing attempts and yd's. Most teams have 25 to 35 rush attempts per game. Now this is playing Play of the moment or CPU vs. CPU. There is always a team with close to 200 yd’s rushing per game which just isn't realistic. Almost all teams run on first and second down, there are exceptions, As I said, this wouldn’t be a cure all, But sure would help the enjoyment of the game and I think most franchise players would benefit from it.

I wish they would put some time into the playbooks and constantly uplate them.

By custom game plans do you mean the plans that you can play or sim each week of CFM?

            Or

Are you referring to the playbook situational game planning in the custom playbook menu?

I am talking about taking a CPU's team specific GP and editing it. For example in my franchise I am the Browns. I can edit my game plan or any GP and save it to Custom Browns or make several of them. They can be used in my sims, or play. Of course if you are calling the plays it don't matter what or who's GP you use. I can rate the plays by stars or just eliminate those that i don't want my Coach to call when I sim or watch my team play CPU vs. CPU.

But if I am playing Detroit, I can't change their GP to any CUSTOM, CREATED, OR EDITED GP. I can only assign them to any team specific or reg GP like Pass Balanced, Run or Shoot, etc. Most of the team specific GP are pretty flawed. Way too many long passes or vertical pass play plays and weighted way to heavy. There is not a variety of play calls by the CPU team. The CPU tends to call the same few plays over and over. There simply is no logic in how the CPU calls the plays. If we could edit there PB's and assign them to them. It would be a much better game, more realistic, better play and more challenging for those that thumb

EA needs to do something. It don't feel like Madden is selling at its normal pace. 2k16 got more streams than Madden. It's only 18th on Amazon. Maybe I'm wrong but it just don't feel take a day off huge anymore.

                back on topic.

I kno EA never would do this, but I wouldn't work on anything but these 3 things
                1. Off/def line play
                2. Off/def awareness
                3. Passing mechanics

My gameplay team focused would be those 3 only. Nothing else

The gameplay itself is outstanding but it's time to make Madden great again. They've really done a great job catering to the online players the last few years but it's time to accommodate those of us who play primarily offline CFM. Slider customization can only help so much with making the game feel 'real' in relation to CPU play calling. If the reason behind this is primarily that star rating system, I'll bet EA could hire someone from this forum who would gladly spend an entire week going thru and thoroughly rating all the plays for each and every team.
Cmon EA, the game is SO close to being absolutely terrific

The key to realism are Playbooks and player ratings. EA is not strong in this area since their focus is online/tourney play in which they want to not restrict the users in those modes.

Offline play is the red-headed stepchild. Sliders help a little, but unless, and until, Playbooks and player ratings are "fixed", we will never get this game to where we want it to go from a sim point of view...especially for CPU controlled teams.

Could they do it? Sure. As you said, there are 100 guys here on the forums that would do it for nothing. Will they do it? No. Shame really.

To 95% of the people who buy Madden to play offline Franchise, it's working perfect. We're a very small portion of the market, therefore it's going to take ALOT to get something like this in the game unfortunately.

                        A. Madden is the #1 selling video game on Amazon, unless you want to count hand held game pokeman.

Yea but it didn't hit number like every huge release this year like No Man Sky, Uncharted, Divison, Far Cry, Overwatch. But I think Madden has that GameStop midnight release launch crowd

I believe they have gone as far as they can with how madden is currently. I think it really needs tendencies/badges like in the nba 2k games. I am so tired of every qb playing the same.

The threat of facing a mobile qb or an elite qb like Rodgers/Brady(who should feel nearly unstoppable) just isn't there. Instead, they all go 20/25, and dink and dunk down the field.

I didn't play 16, but seeing the new catches for myself, I feel they are still too good, and wrs are making sportscenter catches every game. Also, defending these catches is something else too, they either drop it, or my db is helpless. I feel adding sig animations/patches which are only available depending on a player's rating is a better and more realistic way to go.
