I just tweeted this thread to Rex but I think this is a really good point as well:

I don't want this to be something that just advocates expanding the playbook at random but something that expands the playbooks in a way that makes teams play more true to their real life counterparts as well. I think it's very similar to what has to be done with ratings. Tendencies is one aspect, formations is another and then packages is also something I'd like to see the AI utilize but that is probably quite a bit more difficult than the first two.

To go with this, I'd like to see it be something that is dynamic in regards to CFM. If the Vikings draft an Aaron Rodgers clone and have a 67 HB after losing AP, they shouldn't be running the same smash mouth, ground-and-pound offense as if they still had AP. It's almost strictly an offline thing which greatly reduces the bang for the buck which I understand but I still think there are plenty of people that would appreciate and greatly benefit from such an upgrade.

I wish I could believe EA would fix this, but my experience with there titles dating back to 2000 show me they wont even look at it.

Just a simple fix of changing the stars on all the default playbooks would help immensely.

The best thing we can do at this point is draw attention to the forum and post requests on twitter. If enough draw attention to it, they will address it. Stay silent and you get more of the same.

This is basically all I've been wanting for a decade or more, it's a shame they're still not even close to getting there. I mean the game appears to track the results of every play all season long (on defense, for instance, it says right in the play-call box: "78 calls, 4.8 yd avg"), why is the AI not using this information?

20-some years in and the Madden AI is still calling defensive plays based on your formation + down and distance and little (nothing?) else? That's preposterous and should be downright embarrassing.

This should have been reported as an issue within days of the release, and maybe it would have been fixed, like when they tried several times to lock us out from editing ratings. I don't expect them to patch in CPU ai, but allow us to give them the playbooks Wen want without some goofy workaroubd
