Re: Too many big runs because downfield blocking is too effective
Goes to what we were talking about in a seperate thread. LB's and DB's take terrible angles and run straight into blockers. It's a serious error that doesn't seem to be fixed with a slider. It's making the game unplayable for me at this point. I'm sick of having a defense in perfect position and then watching an AI player give up his gap control and take on a blocker head on. My elementary football players are even smart enough to grasp that simple concept.Comment

Reduce threshold or increase it?? I've already lowered run blocking to zero. I've tried increasing threshold to 70 or 80 and I'm far and away the leading rusher in week 17 with Jamaal Charles. I've purposely had to pull him out of the game sometimes to keep his numbers realistic (I'm all about simulation and realism) and this game is simply neither simulation or realistic.SneakyPasta92 -- PSNetworkComment

I think that's Bc the game is tuned to get realistic stats in half the time. Supposedly the game is tuned for 6 min qtrs. Which is why they made explosive plays so frequent and you can't have a 17-14 game on 15 min qtrs w/o some slider adjustments. I hate that.Comment

Bottom line is to find a good slider set. I highly recommend the combined set (with some tweaks to fit your needs).Comment

Re: Too many big runs because downfield blocking is too effective
I wonder if it is related to the fix to make running against dime formations more effective.
I don't know exactly what EA did to make running against 6+ DB sets more effective, but it is not hard to imagine how it could result in better downfield blocking.
One possibility, tune the strength rating to matter more in blocking, and/or rebalance strength rating between linemen and players in the secondary.
