Madden NFL 17 Tuning Update Available Now, Here Are The Details (9-23)

Another Madden NFL 17 tuning update is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users. Below is the list of improvements and updates to gameplay.

• Increased interception chances for user-controlled defenders in Multi-player catches
• Reduced kick meter accuracy penalty under rain conditions.
• Reduced kick meter power penalty under snow conditions.
• Increased wait-time for Pass Rushers to play shed moves when pass rushing (Reduced “Insta-Sheds”)
• A variety of tuning changes to help defense be more effective vs. running plays
• Reduced frequency of organic knock-outs after catches
• Reduced chances of broken tackles for ball carriers
• Slightly reduced throw-out-of-sack fumble chances
• Reduced chance for pass-blocking RB's to Cut-Block
• Reduce chance for success when pass-blocking RB's Cut-Block

Pass D/pocket pressure needs to be tightened up. Every game I play in my CFM is high 40s/low 50s.

Is this the "big" patch they had been referring to? or just a tuning update and the other issues will be addressed in a patch?

No, those are all bad changes. Kicking should be hard in rain and snow. Pass rush was fine how it was, and knockouts were too.

It depends on how much of a reduction they are talking about, but I think they are good changes.

I guess we'll see. I for one was missing at least one XP a game in rainy London...the meter seemed super touchy in the rain.

I agree with that sentiment. Let's hope they were very subtle changes.

However, the run defense was is dire need of an adjustment. If they hit the mark with that one, I could forgive the rest.

No, i didnt like to see most of those except the insta-shed one, personally get tired of that happening too much.

The one im most disappointed in was :

Slightly reduced throw-out-of-sack fumble chances


Really hated seeing that . I felt it was good as it was. We are in week 8 of our reg season, and my qb has fumbled 2 times i think. Both times i held onto it too long and tried to throw when i should of just ate the sack.As it should be.

Ive not seen alot of fumbles where qb is just taking a sack he sees coming.Ive seen em when guys tried to pull the bs madden has let them get away with for years and waiting until being hit to throw the ball, so they avoid the sack.Guess that will be a thing once again, and to me , that , just like removing the ability to strip the ball hardly ever now, are taking step back towards 16 .Just kinda sad to see imo.

Pass rush was non-existant before, now they made it even more non-existant, Makes sense.
