I see what you're saying but don't agree with it.
In this thread there is a clear divide. It's a subjective opinion on the matter all around and no matter what there is going to be a group that doesn't like the setup. I personally didn't like the higher OVR draft classes.
I don't like my experience dictated by other people but I don't let it ruin the game for me. For example I much preferred the kicking out of the box in this game. A certain demographic of the Madden world complained to the point where I feel FG's are far too easy. So I feel you there as my experience was 100% altered by people complaining about an issue I didn't believe existed.
I want the CPU AI to be improved as badly as anyone. Last cycle I would actually draft for all 32 teams. I might end up doing it again this year, or at least the teams in my division and the top 5 picks or so.
Free agency, contracts, the draft...the CPU AI is just flat out bad.
I still think that with higher OVR's in the draft class the user is still at an advantage. Is it possibly a more pronounced advantage with lower OVR's? It could be. I just don't feel it is.
I admittedly handcuff myself though through house rules to try and make it more fair. If I were to utilize the game prep and get golds every week and make a couple trades to pick up a couple picks where I have a better success rate on landing good players then yea I would easily see huge advantages and likely ruin the competitiveness of the CFM.
