So... I just bought Madden 17 a few days ago and will go back home from holiday soon. I've read that the game was fine at release but patches broke it? So do you think I should patch the game or not?
    1. I'm not a HUGE NFL fan. I bought it because it was cheap and wanted a football game (last one was maybe 10 years ago)
    2. I won't play simulation style, I just wanna have fun
    3. I don't know more than 15 players (hey I'm French)

My opinion only here, but the game is not totally bad. You will definatley have fun playing it. As far as I'm concerned all of the patches up to this last one hasn't been anything but good patches. I'm a SIM player and not everything has been corrected in that area, but at the end of the day it is a videogame and made to have fun while playing it, and will never be perfect. I haven't downloaded the latest patch due to my internet being trash so can't comment on the new one. Long story short man.....if you are looking for a football game to scratch that football itch, and to have fun playing you made a great choice buying it. I would still be diehard playing it, but BBALL has grabbed my attention recently. HAVE FUN!!!

Based on what you said I think you should just go ahead and download the patch and you will still enjoy it and have fun playing. The games more broken and unplayable after the patches for sim players/people who care about sim gameplay then it is for those who don't really care and just want to have fun in my opinion. If you wanted too you could also try it both ways to see which one you prefer. If you want you can stop the patch from downloading and try the out if the box version first and then let the patch download later and check out the current version of the game. For example if you tryed both of them and like the out of the box version better then you can just delete and reinstall the game and keep stopping the patch from downloading to go back to it. If you like the current version better you just have to let the patch download to go back to it.

yay - even if it does mean my son to be retiring pass rusher is around 40 sacks short on his career total.

              good update simply for this.

Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #7 Available Now, Here Are The Details

A serious question for those that are simming the punts against the wind. WHY? Do you think you are getting different results? Or do you just don't want to see the punt. Does it just make you feel better? What is the purpose of simming when it gives you the same results and distance as watching it? I don't understand the logic of it.

I have done several different test and tries. I see no difference. Simmed punts against the wind never go more than 45 yds. I have yet to see a punt return for a TD. It’s the same with FG's. I have never seen a miss less than 45 yds by the CPU team. I miss plenty on my own. But the CPU team never misses less than 45 yds. And that is visualized or simmed. Actually I have found a fix for that or at least something that helps a little. The only issue with that is if I make them miss shorter ones, they almost always miss long ones. I haven't found the sweet spot yet.

Everything I have read states that if it happens in sim, it happens in play mode. That was one of the big things about simming this year. I remember reading if you have an injury in play mode, you will have that same injury if you sim that game. I am talking about the current game you are playing.

So do you see a difference? Are you getting different results that I am? Am I missing something? Because if I am, maybe I could at least be able to try to enjoy this game.

Can only hope because for a patch you are most likely looking at least a month to fix and with a tuner it could maybe be a lot faster but consider just about ever tuner and patch this year has either made the game worse or not any better I am not counting on that.

Different strokes for different folks. I really don't know how people can keep playing this game with QBA in it's current state if you primarily play vs the CPU.

The biggest issue with it is that it makes games vs the CPU no longer a challenge, it has resorted to old "EA Football" status where the only way I can lose a game is if I have sliders tweaked to a cheesy level, where CPU defenders' reaction times are insane and they intercept every pass they get their hands on. Every player feels the same (outside of speed), every team feels the same, every game feels the same. I'll crush the CPU unless I throw 4+ INTs.

Pre-patch I was something like 26-24 in my Jets CFM through 3+ seasons and my losses were realistic. I had a season where ever single one of my wins was by 7 points or less. I have not lost a game on default AM since Patch 2 dropped, I won 15 or so in a row before giving up on the game. Pre-patch I would miss open receivers and CPU pressure actually mattered, throws under pressure were typically off the mark. Now, nothing matters besides me pressing the receiver's icon before I get sacked. Passing is automatic.

In turn it kills CFM, I can draft the worst QB on the board in the 7th round and he'll be Joe Montana as a 61 overall rookie. Actually, I guess there's no point in drafting a QB since whatever bum you currently have on the bottom of your depth chart will lead you to the promised land.

It's no different on the CPU side, you face the worst QB out there and he's going to throw maybe one inaccurate pass each game. The breaking point for me was a game in Year 4 vs Denver - Lynch was a 91 or something, I injured him. A 74 overall back up came in and tore me up for a quarter before I injured him well. Alas, a 63 overall rookie came in and completely shredded me.

I'm going to take a wild guess that patch testing (which supposedly happens on default All Pro, six min quarters) is done primarily, if not entirely, HUM vs HUM.

I have gone back to playing NCAA '14, which was never known for having realistic QBA, and at least on the Community sliders with QBA at 5 there are a ton of missed throws for both parties.

This summarizes my frustration with Madden perfectly. I've been waiting for Madden to progress and become a compelling game of football for literally over a decade. I've played very little since 2005 but have frequently visited these boards for years to determine if this would will finally be the year. I liked all the things coming out of Rex's mouth leading up to the release this year and was so pleasantly surprised that they had finally moved the needle enough that I was getting the experience I had been waiting for. And now I'm just left feeling like the rug was pulled out from under me.

Yeah, Ehh, I don't know what to tell you.

Prior to this patch on AP, I was having both QB's (CPU and me) having completion percentages in the 60's with off target and out of bounds passes.

I haven't been able to play post patch, and I am hoping the patch didn't make other areas of the game out of whack.

I must say I was rather disappointed to not see QB accuracy in patch notes. I went from excitement to disappointment real quick. This is a game in which ratings should matter..
