My bigger issue is the AI playcalling and its apparent inability to adapt.
I'm playing the 2019 playoffs and it is Baltimore (me) vs Houston (AI). Perriman is matched up with Jonathan Joseph.
It is on all-madden and coach stick says Perriman has a +9 in speed, and +7 in release.
So what does Houston do? Spend the whole game in single high press coverage.**
On the flip side, my corner Jimmy Smith is matched up with their rookie who has 99 speed, acceleration, and agility (admittedly I had a hand in that). Jimmy is now on the wrong side of 30 and his speed and acceleration are now around 87ish. Coach stick says WR has a +12 advantage in speed!! Also +1 in route running.
I call a lot of single high press, and gambled on Jimmy's ability to press (+6) winning the day. Did it pay off? Don't know, not once did Houston even bother testing me deep.
Remedial AI is unable to play outside the very narrow parameters the game has set. It simply must improve.
**In case you are wondering, yeah I kinda took advantage. Perriman finished with 8 catches for 237 yards. One deep shot was called back due to holding. Never did the AI make an adjustment.
