Player heads in Madden 18 are pretty bad now with the switch to the frostbite engine. In Madden 17 for example, players with scanned faces had hair under their helmets when seen on the sidelines with their helmets off. Meaning if a guy had dreads he looked like a normal person on the sidelines. Now, players like Mike Williams for example, when you see him on the sidelines his head is mushed down in the shape it would be for it to fit in his helmet in the game. So his head is disproportioned and weird looking, not natural at all, and then he has little dreads sticking out in the back like he does with the helmet on. It just looks awful.
Another example is Vernon Hargreaves III, in Madden 17 when you saw him on the sidelines he had his very unique, real life hairstyle with a spandex head wrap thing a lot of the players wear in real life. It was just awesome. Now in M18 when you see him with his helmet off on the sidelines his head is mushed and he just has short generic hair.
Not only is this all a huge step backwards, but I was excited when I heard them say they "redid all the white guy long hair, and dreads for this game" but when I go into the game and look at it, it's so bad. We're now back to the days of Madden when most of the dreadlocks and long hair seemingly come out of the bottom of the helmet, not at all attached to the player's actual head. It's pretty bad and hard not to notice once you realize it.
