Tired of all the sacks ? Please try this

Well as you can see, I haven't given up but I think I found something, Well at least it works for me. please feel free to try this and let me know if it works for you. This is for CPU.vs CPU, Coach mode and POTM players although it might work for users.

I was getting so many sacks a game, it just wasn't fun, So I decided to find out what all these sacks had in common. Ten games into my franchise, I decided to check the stats. I went to individual players, defense and checked the sack leaders. Out of the top 40 the first 6 were left and right ends, 8 were RE, 14 were LE. 3 were LLB, 9 were RLB and 7 were DT.

I wrote down all there attributes and compared them to each other, things like speed, power moves, Awareness, pursuit, etc.Things that I though would affect the positions. Logically many were the top overall rated players. The ratings varied, BUT, one thing stood out that nearly every one had in common.

28 out of those 40 players had yes for swim move, spin move, and bull rush. BUT 38 out of 40 players all had BULL RUSH marked YES.

So for my next game against the Titian's I simply went into their roster and closed the Bull rush on their starting L,and R linebackers their starting R and L ends and left the DT alone. It has been a complete game changer for me. At the end of the game I return them to there original traits. It could be just a fluke or luck but in my next three games I never had more than 6 sacks total in one game where before I was getting anywhere from 6 to 12 per game. Even screen plays seem to be working now, It has also opened up the running game. I'm not losing 2 yds consistently. As a matter of fact, I might have to readjust my sliders.

I can't promise it will work for you, But what have you got to lose? it's worth a try and I would love to know your results. It's not a cure all, but until a patch comes out. Just give it a try. I hope it works for you or at least helps a little. Good luck..

Could be the issue. The qb traits seem to be the issue that contributes to the statue qb. Developers are looking into the qb traits. Hopefully they look at this as well

Not sure if anybody noticed this about qb traits if u mark throw away ball to no the qb's lose 2 overall points....not sure why that happens when u change a trait.

It's because it probably lowers their AWR rating which heavily affects OVR rating.

Yet once again, gamers are stuck with spending hours and hours testing how to fix EAs issues.

This is where you get mad... when they post the "leaked" videos of people playing the game, almost every single person commented on how long QBs stood in the pocket and EA said "so what... we'll release the game anyway because we can."

I couldn't agree more. But if it works, it only takes a couple of minutes, and it's worth it. I don't do every team, Just the ones that I am playing, then at the end of the game I put them back to there original traits, that way it won't change the simmed games.

This is still a work in progress and more testing is needed. The game will never be perfect but I just want to play a fun game that at least looks and feels a little bit like FB.

I know you mentioned this is only CPU vs CPU, but does this also happen in user games you play against the CPU? I don't user the DLine at all, but I don't want them running wild either.

                  .
Do you need to be controlling all 32 teams to edit their players or can you get to edit them if you are only controlling 1 team?

I believe the BULL rush gives a boost or bonus factor to that player just like Swim, spin or Conservative changes the QB's play . If you take that away he don't seem to over power the defender, I think it will work for users. As the Cleveland Browns , Even I was getting to many sacks. I took the Bull move away from a few of my players and I was only getting 1, 2 or 3 a game. But the only way to find out for yourself is to give it a try. Only takes a few minutes. The great players like Mack are still going to get sacks especially against a weak OL individual.

As long as you are in franchise mode, You can edit any player, anytime rather you are controlling 32 teams, 5 teams, 1 team. But you don't need to edit them all, I only edit or make changes to the team I am playing at the currant time. At the end of the game I return all the players to the original state except for mine so that I don't change the sim stats of CPU games. The only game It affects is mine.

Once again I am trying to make the game play as to my personal preference and agenda. Some people like lots of sacks. I'm just trying to create a fundamental FB that I enjoy so my findings might not appeal to everyone.

I am still experimenting with many other options and open to any suggestions.

Nerfing the pass rush doesn't seem like a great idea though. In the past, it's caused a lot of gameplay issues. Fixing the QB AI so they don't take as many sacks under pressure is still the ideal fix IMO.

Clips from two CFM games with "sense pressure" set at "paranoid" along with the other recommended QB trait settings. Both sides shown since in coach mode the AI is controlling my QB. CPU teams are Browns and Raiders. Note that the sacks shown are organic, i.e. the QB is reacting to pressure but he just can't get away from it.

Saints-Browns game was played with no front seven payer on either team having bull rush.

Rams-Raiders game was played with bull rush untouched and had fewer total sacks.

I couldn't agree with you more. But will they fix it.? I sincerely doubt they will. Until they do this works for me. It's not for everyone. We all have our style of play. With the correct mix of sliders, adjustments, at least it is playable now to the point I can enjoy it a little.

For those that play like I do, I hope it helps. It has proved to be very successful for me and has cut the sacks more than half. As I said, I was getting up to 12 sacks a game. The most I have had in the last 5 games is 5 total in one game.

Of Course, there are plays like full out blitz and certain plays that are not going to stop the sack. Nearly every screen pass resulted in a sack. Now maybe 2 out of 8. I'll take that. regular plays that seemed to always result in sacks, The QB is now getting rid of the ball just before they get hit.

As I said. It's not perfect by any means. It simply makes my way of playing better and if it helps someone else. That's great. We all have opinions and needs. I just thought I'd share it if anybody wants to try it.

The great QBs always manage to throw the ball away when things are broken down. But so far even the bad qbs keep trying to extend the play. IF the qbs can just determine a play is bad and just do what's best for the team
