Madden NFL 18 Patch Available Now - Patch Notes Here

One game after the patch and I'm wondering where are all the sack issues I keep reading about. I wonder aloud if people are testing this patch out in CFM with close as to default sliders as possible.



2nd season game in CFM using JoshC's current sliders, 2 sacks apiece by each team with coaching adjustments on aggressive all game with 3 offside penalties on the user.(me)



Another seat of the pants game, tight game all the way to the end. Montgomery ended up with 120 yds rushing, the CPU QB, Matty Ice 64% passing with 3 int's.



The zone coverage were sweet to see, vastly improved since launch.



The game was played with QB edits and coaching adjustments.



The game keeps getting better.

The fact that you had to change so many sliders, settings, and player traits would scream trouble for me. Glad you're having fun, though. I just had C.J Beathard pass for 350 yards and 3TDs on me so I'll be putting this game down for a looong time.

It's just one game but I believe it played much better with the patch for me. I redid my sliders from the ground up as I believe you should after any gameplay patch.

Played Eagles v. Redskins 9 min qtrs, no accel in online CFM. Saw 60-70 plays per team which I can live with. I played as the Eagles.

Cousins went 20/32 for 252 yards and a TD. I went 28/40 with Wentz for 308, 3 TDs 1 INT.

Most importantly only 3 sacks per team. Running game for both teams averaged a little over 4 yards.

Game was somewhat of a blowout. I won 41-21. But I'd like to see how the top end CPU teams perform.

IMO the game played a lot better. I should mention that I play on All-Pro with both CPU and USER Coverages at 100. I'll continue to play this way until there's a definitive man coverage patch. I also tuned the QB accuracies down and WR catch down a bit as well and gave the CPU a slight increase in run block.

Didn't change many sliders at all since most of them are at default and a NY minute to change QB traits.

Ah, okay. What difficulty do you use? I've been on All-Madden for my "career" mode as a LB with the Colts and have had mixed results as far as gameplay.

I'm the same as you, not seeing the sack issue, I am getting maybe a few to many big plays but have yet to play with the patch.

Three full games at pure default All Pro sim, no QB edits, only the gameplanning workaround in my slider thread. Pure joy! The remaining gameplay issues I see are minor, niggling issues. For the first post-launch patch, just tremendous work here...

HDR games like NBA 2k17, MLB the Show, and now Madden 18 come through a little dark in HDR mode on my tv (LG OLEDB6P65). And that's with backlight & contrast up to 100. I turned the "brightness" up on the tv slightly (from 50, to 61), changed the in-game brightness in Madden to Highest, and contrast to [EDIT]Highest, and it looks damn vibrant.

You shouldn't change anything in game as you're compromising the point of HDR. You should however turn dynamic contrast to high as all LGs are supposed to do this after the most recent update.

I just have to say that HDR looks amazing.

Oh, and sacks are out of control. This needs a hot fix now.

Really can't tell much a difference here but I'll try to get more detailed pics in a while

About the best way i can show hdr. I had to tweak my settings alot for madden, it needs a calibration settings like battlefield 1 hdr

Patch impressions after 1 game:
Good
Tannehill completed 50% of his passes with 1 int.
Passing windows are quite a bit tighter. Linebackers play the middle of the field with more awareness now.
A lot more errant passes and pressure seems to effect qbs more.
Game does look better. I don't have HDR on my tv so that may just be me.
Tannehill scrambled a few times on me.
Bad
Running back moves are less frequent and the hit stick is less of a gamble now.
Tannehill scrambled out of the pocket twice with plenty of daylight ahead of him but elected to pass the ball past the LOS.

This pas rush is stupid quick. No time to do anything, the jets shouldn't sack me 7 times in a half.

They should if you're holding the ball more than 3-4 seconds.

And how are people seeing fixes in areas that EA openly said were not touched?? I think a much bigger sample is needed before all these claims that it's fixed!

Funny thing about that is I just played my first game post patch me Packers vs Saints and it seemed like QB accuracy was changed. I know only 1 game but I played with the same QB slider set I had before of it at 40 and yet I saw like 5 miss passes for both me and CPU each and a few that where like way off.
