    Re: HDR issues?

To get HDR to work properly on tvs, that are capable, you have to go into picture settings on either Xbox One S or PS4 Pro. On Xbox you must go to video settings and change your video output to "RGB Full" in the color space. Also make sure you enable 10 bit color panel in that same section also to get HDR 10 or full HDR on your tv. Madden looked really washed out until I changed it. Also this works on PS4 pro. Go to settings in ps4 and go to video options and also set
RGB to full there also and leave everything else in the video options to automatic. Should help the hazy or greyed out washed out look problem most people have been having. Hope this is able to help anyone

Also I have a Samsung tv the KS8000 and to get full colors in HDR games u want to change color space in your tv settings to auto. DO NOT set it to Native because it will also give a washed out look during HDR games. On Samsung tvs also you want to set color space to Native for non-HDR content or other games that aren't HDR compatible.

        Re: HDR issues?

I'm so thankful for this thread because I thought I was just going crazy. I'm playing on the PS4 Pro and the HDR update completely sucked the life out of my Madden. What was once beautiful became greyed out and dull. My remedy was to just turn off the HDR I'm the PS4 system settings. There's a lot of helpful suggestions here that I will try to see if it helps any. What I don't understand is why I would have to do something special for this game? Every other HDR enabled game I have works flawlessly with no adjustment.

Does putting madden on highest contrast help in the game settings?

It does look better in HDR Standard or Bright but the gameplay stutters. This is with True motion off. When I use HDR Game mode I don't get the stuttering during gameplay, but I go get it during replays which still needs to be patched. I'm on PS4 Pro with the B6 as well.

Yes! I found that putting the brightness & contrast to highest in the settings definitely helps. It brings out the HDR & makes the picture quality pop even more.

Turn true motion to clear or smooth no stuttering for me

It's entirely incorrect though and you're ruining the purpose of HDR by doing so.

That is my TV model, (except I have the 65inch) and the HDR is just broken on these things. There was an update this year to help HDR, but madden looks AWFUL in HDR on my TV.

Help me out here, maybe I misunderstand.
I've done a ton of research and RGB FULL means that you are setting the video range to be 0-255, but almost no TV's can handle that. They all use RGB limited which is the 16-235 scale.

If you set the xbox to use RGB FULL, and your TV cannot handle it (most can't), that means every black or white that is outside of the scale it can recognize (16-235) will be displayed as a black or white, not in between. This means shadows and highlights are destroyed.
