Thanks for the feedback - I'm considering launching a channel with this video being the bedrock. Getting tired of the 9 to 5 lol.
That's what I'm in the process of trying to do lol

We're all prone to being wrong from time to time. Apparently the issue I was trying to illustrate has been addressed by Sony in recent firmware (missed it). My mistake - set that puppy to RGB!

Hold on. So changing to uv420 isn't the correct thing now? I thought it looked better. Can you explain please?

It was a fix that needed to be made previously and is still something that you can do with LG OLEDs as it reduces posterization. I was operating off of old Intel as when the pro first came out you had to do it as the Pro wouldn't kick into 422 or 420 at all if RGB was selected. That's been fixed now in a firmware update.

You're entirely safe to roll with automatic now as a setting selection which will default to RGB. I was simply unaware that it'd be fixed by Sony is all.

Everything else you should take into consideration though (RGB Limited, Black level low).

I removed the video as I didn't want to spread misinformation as I was misinformed.

              Re: Madden 18 and HDR

So...PS4 Pro - all set to Automatic?

TV - all set to Automatic? (Sony x900E)

Is that now the optimal settings for both devices?

Also, is there supposed to be an HDR indicator that pops up in Madden that confirms you are running in that mode? My display on tv show 4K (3840x2160), but didn't there used to be an HDR icon that popped up in Madden on one of the screens?

Yeah...thought so...odd that it does not. Can't figure it out. Running off HDMI2 which I know is 4K/HDR. Bizarre..even when I force to YUV it does not pop up on that screen (HDR).

I think that might be a Samsung tv thing with the pop up bubble. I have a Sony and nothing pops up. You'll know your running in HDR if u try and share a gameclip. Unless u have a Samsung? PS4 doesn't allow u to share a HDR clip, so it will say your clip will look different basically.

                      Re: Madden 18 and HDR

I have a Samsung 4K tv and when the patch dropped I noticed the tv would go blank and the Brady logo screen would be a lot brighter. Noticed yesterday that when I load up the game it starts out dim, then the screen goes blank and the logo is bright for a few seconds and the flicks back to a more dim setting. Have no clue what the heck is happening anymore.

How can you tell if HDR is working on the Xbox One Slim or not? Thanks in advance.

                        Re: Madden 18 and HDR

I verify it on my x900e by going into the picture settings and changing the HDR mode from automatic to off. If it changes, HDR was on. If it stays the same, HDR was not enabled.

If it is not enabled, you can double check it by forcing HDR 10 and seeing how the screen reacts. If you force the TV into HDR 10 with a standard picture, it will look off.

I also have a Samsung 4k TV and as far as I can tell when it goes black and then comes back dim thats when the HDR is kicking in. I have tested it by clicking the "ok" button that brings up the info for the current input and it doesn't say HDR when it's bright, or right when the game boots up, and then after it goes dim it will show HDR so I'm assuming it just has to do with the game triggering HDR is all.

You should set it to Automatic for resolution.

Interesting, on my Samsung ks8500, when i press the info button on my tv remote, it reads HDR on the bright screen while booting up.

Then on my Sony x900E I would also need to set the corresponding setting to Limited, yes? I believe this is called HDMI Video Range on this Sony set.
