Why are the packers a run first team in madden?

about to take this pos game out of my console and go sell it.

Playing against the packers offline and out of their first 15 plays Runs have been called on 13 of them averaging about 2 yds. Passes have only been called on third downs. The packers are a pass first team and that play calling should be flipped. The amount of legacy issues and non things addressed year over year is alarming. Especially given their drive to add new features and modes that don't even function properly on day 1.

    Seriously EA needs competition.

Most teams play this way it seems. Its not uncommon tobsee less than 20 passes a game with 12 min quarters and 12 second run off.

it's because the gameplanning feature was halfway implemented and never updated. If you are playing offline there is a workaround for the bad play calling http://forums.operationsports.com/fo...s-project.html

The playcalling fix works great to get varied CPU playcalling.

However, I have yet to see anyone claiming they can alter CPU run pass ratios. My theory:

        1. Run/pass ratios are coded to the team and not related to the playbook or scheme.

        2. Stars in gameplanning are a RESULT of other coding and NOT a determining factor in what plays the CPU calls where it concerns run/pass ratios.

The star system is not uniformly implemented and it is unlikely someone manually starred those plays. Most books have starred plays that are starred in most or all playbooks. Likely, EA picked 50 or so plays, coded them as situational, and some other section of code assigned the stars.

So, you improve play calling but you can't affect ratios or run/pass situational playcalling like being a run or pass 1st down team.

At first I though it was just yet another example of EA cutting corners.

To arrive at their run/pass ratio they simply look at the overall run/pass ratio of each team, ignoring the fact that all teams will run the ball to protect a lead in the 4th quarter.

But even going by their overall ratio, they still passed the ball 65% of the time. In Madden I think the ratio is still run over 50% of the time.

Simple answer is that EA doesn't care enough about such details.

Quite simply the AI is not very intelligent.

              Coaching doesn't matter....

Ratings are not considered for game planning...

For simulated games, playbooks are very accurate for run/pass ratios.
