NBA 2K18's User Metacritic score is 1.6. That score we know is not indicative of the true quality of the game, but is of course primarily composed of protest scores because of anger over VC. The game is still on pace for record sales again. Does one think that Take Two is going to let those scores be a strong motivator for the direction of 2K19's development or will they look at sales and the revenue that they made from micro-transactions.

The BattleFront 2 User Metacritic is 0.9. There may be some legitimate criticisms about games from some of the user Metacritic scores, but lets be real, since most of the votes are protest votes or trolling now, I'm pretty sure that executives think of it as mostly noise. Many Users have rendered their opinion useless because of their intellectual dishonesty. Withholding their money is now their only weapon.

You make a fair point about 2k but I have no idea of how much credence Visual Concepts place on Metacritic. EA on the other hand place significant value on how their product is received using Metacritic, which is also an entirely different metric to sales. Rex actually mentioned their review Metacritic score on Twitter only the week before Christmas yet declined to mention the corresponding user score. Like I said, they can bury their heads in the sand but I think next year the suits will understand the importance of acknowledging how consumers received the product. At least if they've got any sense.

Well, I mean, I wont deny there are aspects of Madden's gameplay that are better, but lets be real here....the animation and physics in 2K are still better than anything Madden has ever been, and that directly translates to superior gameplay in many ways.....and beyond gameplay, youll see hings happen in 2K that youll never see happen in Madden.

I know some people on here dont care for him, but this video is spot on. Ive been complaining about fade routes in Madden forever.

I just broke out all pro football again and I’m amazed how well does game still holds up here in in 2018

I just broke out all pro football again and I’m amazed how well does game still holds up here in in 2018

If the game didn't look so bad on my 4K televisions I would probably still be playing it too.

I think there are still more ball carrier moves in 2K8 than Madden.

The community here is such a small minority of the true population that plays Madden. Longshot, the competitive Madden gaming culture, and MUT are massively popular. CFM is something that is tacked on to please a small minority.

Apparently 65 percent is a small community. But your right that 65 percent got smaller with madden 18. And that top notch movie called Longshot... The title says it all as far as the likely hood of me or my friends buying Madden 18. We are football fans first, gamers second.

The 65 percent was from an EA developer, I think Rex, that stated that franchise mode was the main mode played by 65 percent of fans of the game. I cant find a link, I was going off of memory. But , Madden 18 is obviously more geared toward MUT and longshot.
Franchise wasn't touched so I moved on to other things. I miss Madden, but not as bad as I thought I would. I still come to Operation sports just to stay current.

That is why Madden fails in my opinion, because it has no intention of being a football game, it is a loosely based representation of the NFL and it’s teams. No substance, certainly not anywhere close to MLB the show. I love football, and maybe that’s my problem, because I want for Madden what The Show is for baseball fans. I guess I learned this year that I am not the audience EA wants anymore. Take care.
