Madden 2005 on PS2 will continue to be my reference point for where this game should have started as a baseline for future development. Instead, they have taken the route of making extremely shallow changes (not even improvements) such as the NFL Draft presentation (which now lacks any input on individual players).

Not only does the draft and the league itself feel stale, it also gets to a point where the drafted players will be the only players in the league and the announcers won't say any of their names in the game.

Madden has time to create a new currency (Snow) for MUT, but they don't care to make annual improvements to a mode that I believe most people still would have an interest in playing if it were actually playable.
I wholeheartedly agree. There are a ton of features that Madden 2005 had that have since been removed from the game.

Hell if they just spent an entire dev cycle simply putting back in things that were removed over the years, I would be ecstatic. Bring back the Create-A-Play feature, the training camp drills, players coming out of retirement, retired players being coordinators, coordinators in general.

Honestly I'm in year two of franchise and I don't think I'm going to ever even going to make it to the superbowl. So I probably wouldn't have known about it and I don't think affect my enjoyment.

When I'm not satisfied with Madden, I don't buy the next year, like I did with 16 and 18.

Fair enough. To get back on topic let's ask a few questions:

In what world does Case Keenum break his foot on a handoff when during the play he does nothing but just hand the ball off?

In what world do the Ravens not take a 3rd and 6th round pick for RGIII(their 3rd string QB when no one else is injured)?

In what world do the Dolphins not take a 1st, 3rd, and 7th round pick for Brock-frickin-Osweiler?

In what world do the Colts not take a 3rd and 7th for Jacoby Brissett?

What's worse is I know that a simple fix to this is just some simple testing.
All a developer has to do is load up franchise and screw around in it and say "Huh, yeah, that's pretty stupid. I need to fix that" and it's fixed.

Seahawks reportedly offered the Colts a second round pick in the offseason for Brissett and the Colts turned them down.

Regarding the injury stress fractures in non-contact situations aren't at all uncommon in football. If you google "bone fractures in football" the first hit is going to be an article about a college player who fractured their femur in a non-contact situation! If that is possible I can't imagine how fracturing one or more of the bones in your feet, without contact, wouldn't be possible.

Without access to the relevant source code neither I, nor anyone else here, could tell you why those offers were rejected.

For the sake of argument I'll concede both that the issue requires fixing and would be trivial to do, although I seriously doubt the fix would actually be trivial. If you know this for a fact I would love to hear the details.

Identifying the issue, and even having a clear idea of how it would be fixed, doesn't give the developers permission to start working on it. That would need to come from the people in charge, and they obviously have other priorities, as the developers have been working on all the issues which have been corrected via patch/tuning update since launch. Do you suppose all those fixes were also trivial?

True but it was for a 2020 2nd round pick. The Hawks dont have a 2019 2nd round pick but still, Irsay said he wouldnt trade him for a first. Which is stupid or maybe he wasnt sold on Lucks shoulder being 100% at the time, ....which had been an issue for him for a couple years.
