Ugh, I hated the wrap tackle from behind animation the most, the runner would actually stop and go backwards before the defender had even reached him. I would rather what we have now than go back to pre patch to be honest. What I really hope they don't touch is the toned down rpm, controlling the runner is much better now.

I'm in agreement with the OP. I really hope they don't undo the good they've don here.
For my part, I'm on King's sliders, on AP, and I'm seeing incredible animations. It finally feels like weight, size, and momentum matter on a consistent basis. Yes, I know about the one odd animation the plays a little too frequently, but I'm not seeing that often enough to consider it a huge deal, and I'm thrilled to be able to truck a defender with a big back and get an appropriate outcome. Running with a FB finally feels like it should, which I love, and I can really tell the difference between my power back and my receiving back at the point of contact.
I'm very happy with 1.20, myself.Comment

Last night in my online league I sacked the QB about 7 or 8 yards deep while he was moving BACKWARD away from the rush the animation triggered and his QB somehow pushed FORWARD to get 5 of those yards back. Those 5 yards made a big difference as he ended up barely throwing for a first down the very next play on 3rd down. Even worse if the awkward forward progress animations triggers on a sack then a sack isn't credited to your defender. With progression being ALL STAT based that is huge if sacks are not getting recorded because of this bug.Comment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
Smh, ugh.......... I've lost a game on that one, opponent needed a td with time expiring and in my red zone. Well his QB pushed TWO of my defenders 4 more yards in to the end zone.Comment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
It very likely is settings. I just played a game this morning, and in that time I saw a sideways twist animation that clearly needs to be diminished in terms of its frequency. I think I saw that 3 or so times all game. I did have my QB move forward while getting sacked once, but I was moving forward, got hit from behind, and continued forward into another player. The collective momentum of my forward movement and my being hit from behind, coupled with my QB's size (6'3" 225) and high STR, moved all players forward ultimately. Seemed fine to me.
Give King's set a go, if you're inclined. I was very impressed at what I saw.Comment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
I guess i shouldve said this before but i play on coach mode or just watch it play out cpu vs cpu. So i adjust traits and gameplay all the time. So i dont get the anger yall do when playing vs someone, or for something. So when watching the game play out, the animation actually looks gorgeous at times. Like the running back bursting through the whole and only a safety to beat so he lowers his head and gets in the endzone. As a player i guess id be upset, but just watch it. 9/10 it creates a more realistic outcone than before.
Ill show you what i mean. Im right now recording the game the way ive adjusted it on cpu and ill post it shortly. Tell me it doesnt look better nowComment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
No they absolutely need to fix this and it is broken. When Tarik Cohen can just plow and fall through Kenny Clark one of the best DTs in football 5 yards after initial contact that is a huge problem regardless of what anyone seems to think. Clark blew the play up 3 yards deep in the endzone but the fall forward triggered and he basically ran over Clark and fell forward 5 yards to avoid the safety. That should NEVER happen. The game gets worse with each new patch.

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
After having more time with the last patch I don't think it's as bad as I intitial thought. It's more of certain instances make it look it bad & makes no sense. Needs to be balanced no doubt, because sometimes it looks really good & makes sense. Really enjoying the gameplay with my mod.OS needs a Thumbs DOWN button

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
Having only jumped into 1.20 yesterday, I kept wondering subconsciously why I hadn't noticed this animation as much, then discovered it was actually a "thing". This animation is a little closer to simulating momentum more accurately, but not really.
The peeving outcome of the animation to me really isn't the animation itself but the spot of the runner; he is flung forward but the spot is where the contact took place not where he lands.
Keep working EA...will they this year though?Comment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
i dont even mind the fall forward thing as long as the runner is going forward....it's the standing still or running sideways or backwards yet they still fall forward that needs to goComment

Yeah those look odd.. but overall as I play more games, it's not that bad. Maybe after a tweak it will improve.Comment

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
It has to be fixed to a balance between both. Before the glitch powerful running backs were stopped on a dime by small corners which is not realistic, however now small RBs can power thru the largest DL. Bottom Line, It clearly shows no physics at all. Its all obsolete animations!!! EA need to change their name to “ Can’t do right”!

Re: Madden please dont mess with the falling forward animation
I agree, I don't mind the falling forward which is what runners do 90% of the time IRL. The problem is that in Madden ball we've become accustomed to tacklers knocking runners backwards and sideways and that rarely happens. Most tackles in the NFL are not solid hits, especially if the runner adjusts his body. But that requires use of physics and I don't think Madden will ever be capable of that.
I think they've accidentally stumbled on a positive here and knowing the track record I think the patch will just mess things up.Comment
