That's gotta be a fun challenge. Rebuild mode and trying to get back to the top. My brother is usually the Dolphins too. The cap room they'll have along with their draft picks they've saved for next year should put them in great position to make a positive change if they can make the right moves.

You guys have some good ideas. Back up franchises from my online CFM for fun while I wait on the guys to finish their games.

It will be a huge challenge. Miami might be the worst team on Madden this season. But that will allow us to have a very high draft position and I intend to find our franchise QB. We gotta find one to have any shot at a Super Bowl. Can Josh Rosen develop? Or will we grab Tua with the #1 overall pick? Lot's of possibilities with the Fins.

Uh, Rosen is there. I'm not high on Tua being a good NFL QB. I'm talking real life. They all are good in Madden, even Osweiler lol.

For the 20th-plus year I will be rolling with my Niners. I now have over 115 seasons played in my Niner Madden universe that goes back to Madden 99. My stat binder is pretty cool to look at. Even if madden is bad, I still find a way to knock out at least 2 or 3 season and when its good I've knocked out as many as 18 seasons.

I personally like taking a team that's teetering on the edge of either success or failure. Traditional deep rebuilds aren't my cup of tea, though I do sometimes like taking a team who's supposed to win it all & try to dominate with a tough slider set.

I'm not really in the football mood with the NBA Draft and MLB in full-swing, so not sure who I'll take.

In the past I took teams like Jacksonville circa Madden 17 and Green Bay in Madden 18. Both were tremendously fun to use as Jacksonville took off IRL like I did and I got Green Bay a Super Bowl.

Guys, don't want to take this thread completely off the track, but I also don't want to start a new thread for what might only be a couple of posts, but:

Let's say you intend to create your own draft class (or more) in M20 - how many guys with X-factor and Superstar abilities should such a draft class have, on average?

I say, 1-2 X-factors and additional 3-5 Superstars?

I like to rebuild teams, but this year could provide some interesting alternatives with ratings being spread out, Superstar and X-factor abilities, and more accurate salaries.

Subject to change, but right now I'm thinking Miami, Buffalo?, Detroit, San Fran, Baltimore, Seattle.

I'm very curious to see how the cap situation plays out with more accurate salaries. Taking over a team in "cap hell" could be fun too.

If I decide to get the game, a fun team to consider for a rebuild would be the Vikings. In 2020, they have 11 players taking $10M or more($31M just for Kirk Cousins alone) in cap space. If you miss the playoffs in 2019, at that point look to start the rebuild. Fire Mike Zimmer, go out and get a QB guru type of Head Coach(Sean McVay) and make a move to get one of the top QBs in the 2020 Draft.

Whether go all out like the Rams and move all the way to 1 like they did to get Goff and get Tua and build around him. With a good QB class in 2020, it would be prime to take a QB in real life and for us armchair GMs playing Madden using a Custom 2020 Draft Class, cut some dead weight cap wise and start over.

Well in our online league im probably sticking with the Jags , although i noticed in the beta if the salaries were right ( and i think they were) i have a ton of work to do in the first season to dump a lot of salary as my team i beleive is ilike - 10mil in salary cap. I could not resign anyone during the season until i cut calaias cambell and a couple other people to free up some space.

But i love having my boy Big Stick Foles as my QB ( shouldn't this guy have some kinda clutch ability? I mean he was tossed in as a back up just before playoffs and carried that team to a superbowl, while beating tom brady and the pats , as well as winning Superbowl MVP ) . So im not sure how im going to go about it , but i will def have to work on my salary cap at the start of preseason for sure .

As tradition goes for me, I always kick off my Franchise mode with the New York Football Giants. Last year was messy fun and next year is a whole different ball game now that Odell has been vanquished from NY.

After that, I'll mosey on over to the AFC. For whatever reason, I'm usually drawn to the Broncos so I'll probably do a rebuild with them.

This is actually a good question lol I got into making draft classes after last year and really looking forward to this year, but you bring a strong argument: How many guys with X-factor and Superstar abilities should a draft class have?

I think a separate thread in the rosters section might be best to get this talk going.

Probably PIT, but that's only for uniforms. OS has made me a 10 year sim devotee for franchise mode. I play on console (may get 20 on PC if the game is good) so editing everything would be too much of a pain, but just lowering the SPD and ACC distribution of players works wonders in franchise mode games. The AI boosts aren't anywhere near as jarring.

As always I will have at least one franchise mode at some point with the Steelers.

Other than that, here is my plan for franchise mode.

I'm definitely going to make myself in QB1 mode and explore everything it has to offer. I haven't played a "Superstar" mode since the PS2 days, so hopefully I can have fun with this. Unlike a lot of people around here, I actually enjoyed Longshot. So, I think I should like QB1.

For my "interesting team stuck in the middle" Franchise, I'm not sure where I want to go.

I've narrowed it to 5 teams:

1. Washington
2. Denver
3. Tennessee
4. Cincinnati
5. Oakland/LV Raiders

Washington seems like my front-runner as it would be fun to try to build a team around Haskins, Guice, and the d-line in Washington. Plus, the NFC East is always a competitive division that it would be fun to play in.

Cincinnati is an absolute mess (sorry Bengals fans). It would be fun to try to revamp the offense without Andy Dalton. Maybe pick up a mobile QB (i.e. Tua) and run an RPO show.

Tennessee would be interesting to use simply because you'd have to make a decision on Mariota in the first off-season which could change the course of the organization.

Raiders. Scenario engine. Nuff said.

Denver was initially my front-runner but then I realized it may not be as fun as I thought. I love Drew Lock. But, you've already got a loaded young receiving corps you just need to wait to develop. You have a top RB. You have a good edge rush. It would be mostly ensuring the O-Line and Defense are up to snuff to take down Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs year in and year out.

I'm leaning towards the Bengals at launch. They seem like the odd one out in the AFC North. Everyone else seems to be trending upward and the Bengals are projecting to be in the basement this year. It's also going to be fun finding replacements for the current offensive core of Dalton, Green, Eifert, and possibly Mixon.

I'll probably also do a Bills franchise at some point. Love the new additions we got this year.
