Yeah, the game as-is does not make me fear 3rd and long as I should.

My very first play in this game, I looked at the corner of the screen and saw they wanted Thelien to get 2 20+ yard catches. I said “okay, let’s go for it”. Throw a post deep down the middle and just thought, well that was easy lol. Little did I know it was going to be one of many deep routes completed.

Now that I think about it, I guess deep route coverage was ever patched well last year. I think it was all mods that helped it.

I'm honestly enjoying the game otherwise but coverage issues are definitely the biggest sore spot. In reality everyone in here is probably correct in some way, it's likely several different issues manifesting in different ways.

I've decided All-Madden is a must right now. I tried playing on All-Pro with all the CPU coverage sliders maxed out and was still completely destroying them. Even on All-Madden I'm helping them by bumping their sliders into the 60s, which I don't think I would have ever done in previous Maddens. By doing that and reducing QB accuracy for both teams, I've got my completion percentages from the 80s to the 60s. There's still too many big plays allowed, so scores are still high. It would be a great representation of the college game tbh.

Re: Pass Coverage is STILL so broken

After watching the All 22 of the Chargers vs. Chiefs week 1 last week for another project, and then playing part of another game, it may not be as bad as I thought. Some of the blown coverage's and guys just getting smoked on routes I see on film with more frequency than I remember from last year. So this maybe a little closer to reality is some cases than I thought.

Now, all of that being said, the safety depth issue is still FAR too prevalent in the game. To me this is the biggest issue, and the main crux of the issues vs. zone. This issue creates huge holes in zone coverage particularly in the middle of the field. There are clearly other issues as well, but this is the big one for me. If they can make safety depth/leverage more realistic, but not totally infallible, I think we may be in good shape. If I remember this was an issue with a previous version and they ended up fixing it via patch, but not totally sure.

For the PC players, if EA doesn't do it, I'm sure the modders will.

There’s more 20+ completions than 8 yard completions. And there’s no sense of peril like there is in real games. The defensive line should be flying up field since a run play is unlikely. They still run directly into the blockers most of the time.

Lmao, yall are hilarious. I CLEARLY said, ive seen and witnessed bad coverage playing madden and others have posted these examples. You said its good, so i said post this good coverage as others have POSTED the bad. Now i hear excuses that i want you to do something for me as a deflection. Do it for the ENTIRE COMMUNITY that says the opposite. Yall try an discredit the players that say the negative but then deflect and make excuses when someone says prove it. Lmao, i swear "common sense aint that common" is the best quote EVER

I’m really interested in seeing your clips of consistently good coverage because I’ve yet to see that anywhere unfortunately.

Also, if you’re wondering what we mean by “bad coverage” several clips have been posted in this thread.

For the love of all that is holy, dont ask them to make sense and prove otherwise with the otb game playing poorly. How could you ask such a question lmao

I think I may be okay with that adjustment. Maybe if the safeties tightened there zones up a bit it wouldn't be so noticeable when the defensive backs are getting burned. Slant routes should be going for 4-8 yards on average. Right now I can easily get 10-15 yards on slants. Maybe if the Safteies helped a bit more this might be as prevelant
