Dev traits get unhidden once the player has played 500 snaps.

They're supposed to, sure, but it's not displaying any progress whatsoever for me. Every week it's back to 0 snaps played.

He knows that, but the snaps are not showing that they are being counted properly, so he was asking if they are behind counted properly behind the scenes and the dev traits eventually unlock like they should, or if the bug with the snap counter also keeps them from ever unlocking.

Weird, I haven't actually played any franchise games yet only run sims to test some things and check out the scenario engine. The system seemed to be working correctly for me during my sims as I was able to eventually uncover the dev traits of all of my rookies during the first season. I'll definitely pay close attention to this when I get a chance to play a couple more games in the next few days.

Re: Hidden Dev Traits mean nothing???

I have to say in the limited time I’ve played this version of Madden I love it.
The hidden dev traits are just for stars and above but there would be an issue - if you draft a normal dev in the 7th rd, he may never get the snaps necessary to unlock the trait. At that point, most players would just be focusing on the higher overalls and it would be a truly frustrating crap shoot that a different set of people will complain about.

I did an 8 year sin on my second account trial that I’m not playing to see what generated classes looked like. And the result was really good. A lot of diversity. One class only had two offensive players over 70 each class had between 1 and x factors and it wasn’t only he high overalls. One class in particular had a QB listed as the #1 overall pick. His true talent grade was a rd 2 so he was in red. In the past, you would pass on that guy which isn’t a bad call. He came out as. a 69 but he was an xfactor. Is that good or bad? Idk but I’d probably feel okay about developing him behind a veteran like Maholmes.

The other thing I’d mention is that these improvements aren’t independent of each other.

The ratings spread makes drafting a 68 ovr qb tenable, the new training XP allows for better development. so that 68 could be a 75 by the end of the year. If he’s a hidden dev, you are rewarded for giving him snaps but do you have a 78 over QB on your depth chart ahead of him? Do you want to have a better shot of winning with the 78 or do you want to develop the young guy? Its a real decision this year when it hasn’t been before. Not because of any one of the changes but because of the sum total of them.

And a normal trait isn’t bad. In my actual CF, I just drafted a 73 over tackle with the normal trait. At the end of his rookie deal he’ll probably be a 78-80 and when he’s ready to decline maybe an 83 or an 84. A solid player. The definition of high floor low ceiling and totally serviceable unlike last where the pick would be a bust.
