Re: Madden NFL 20 Patch 1.10 Available - Patch Notes Here
Just had by far my best and most enjoyable game post patch.
At home vs Bears. 4th quarter comeback to win 27-25.
Much more realistic numbers and only 1 broken play that I remember.
Got 2 sacks and held cpu to 0.
Cpu ran for 120 yards and passed for 280 yards, better than previous games for me.
I found by controlling one of my linebackers I was able to break up lots of plays to the cpu tight end. This has been my main issue with pass coverage but taking control of linebacker stopped some big plays and lowered cpu pass completion.#dcRisingComment

Every year I give up playing with injuries on. I don't know how you all do it. Every year I try and either my team is decimated or every other team I play is missing their stars, out with lengthy recovery times.
I made it all the way to Week 6 of my Jets CFM reboot before Enunwa (8 weeks), Bell (12 weeks), Maye (6 weeks), and Darnold (season) were lost. Maye and Enunwa, fine, they have injury histories. Of course, though, I lose my two biggest weapons on offense. There is no point in playing at that point. It's not fun. I don't have a ton of time to game these days, I don't want to waste it leading a Trevor Siemian/Ty Montgomery offense.

Yeah Trubisky, Cam and Jackson are the only ones i tested that survived the patch. Others scramblers like Mariota, Rodgers, Winston and Wilson don't run at all. And i don't think its tied to traits cause before the patch they used to run... now they play like they're Brady and stand in the pocket all day.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 20 Patch 1.10 Available - Patch Notes Here
Just played my first game after latest patch. Default All Pro 15m 13 play clock. I restarted my franchise to get OL superstar abilities.
First preseason game vs Giants so starters only played one quarter. I beat them 16-13. It was finally nice have a defensive battle kind of game for a change instead of the usual scores of like an outdoor arena football game. You know scores like 44-40 ish.
CPU completion percentage was kind of high most of the game. But in the end Eli completed 61% and Jones 65% against me. Jones had a high percentage until last two drives, he couldn’t complete anything. They were turnover prone. I picked them off four times(no pick 6s). I threw no INTs. There were no fumbles by either team. I was sacked twice, I sacked them once.
Run game by both teams just felt good. Barkley sliced me up for several long runs. I had a few with Bell as well.
Overall I liked the feel of the game.Last edited by NYJin2011tm; 08-25-2019, 02:53 PM.Comment

(The only thing worse, IMO, was grinding out several games w/o saving and having the console freeze up after one of them before it got back to the main menu so you could save. That was usually a franchise killer. Luckily it's a non-issue now, what with auto-save and whatnot.)
Too bad EA can't implement a MAKE THE CPU TEAM HEALTHY for this game feature.Comment

Right? There are few things more frustrating than anticipating a big match up a few weeks away, knowing you're going to be going up against a great quarterback or a great running back or something. Then you get into the game, see their back up, frantically hit pause and scroll to the injury report and see the star player is injured. You've already saved & there's nothing you can do about it. Even a win at that point feels empty.

I read on here that toggling the “use pre-existing injuries” on and off will clear all injuries. Don’t quote me though, never tried it.
And I know what you guys mean, but I just think injuries provide dynamics that are way more interesting than with them turned off. I *absolutely* want to be forced into playing backups and signing scrubs, or find interesting ways to absorb key injuries (position swaps, playbook adjustments, etc.).
I think the trick to it comes down to difficulty, where you’ve got it set up so your team 100% healthy will perform at this level, and then at that level when decimated by injuries; like 12-4 is what you’re looking at if you can stay healthy, and 6-10 or worse if you get really banged up. That’s spot on with how it should be, imo, really for almost every team.
If, by contrast, your sliders/difficulty are such that you’re only going 9-7 or 7-9 even when 100% healthy, eat some pride and realize that ish is too hard.
As for the CPU getting key injuries, again I know what you mean but meh. Having to face a backup QB just ups the pressure, like, better not let this clown go off on me. Or if they’re really banged up in general it becomes, “no excuse losing this one,” etc.
Again supposing your settings are truly dialed in it should all be a very welcomed dynamic imo.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

I agree. I need injuries otherwise it just feels fake. Don't get me wrong, when I lose one of my stars for the whole season I'm gutted but I love having a big player out for a period of time cos I then have to adjust my game or see how I cope with the backup player. Same goes when CPU have players out, it's a different challenge.#dcRisingComment

I agree, too. I want injuries on and figure out how to deal without having Julio in there for a few games. But, as others have said, it’s also a pain, lol. I’ve lowered the injury slider the past few years, and I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve had stars on O and D go down for 4 weeks, and I’ve had a few season Enders, but everything works out, and it does feel like I have to coach differently without them, so I like it.
I’ll tell u what, man. In M19, I was in my 10th season right before M20 dropped. After losing Julio to retirement for a few seasons, I could never find that stud wr to replace him. In my final season, oh boy, did I! Lol. 6’5”, 220 lbs, high spec catch, 90 spd, I believe, dude could jump out the sky. Lol. I actually ran a ‘live’ draft and waited till about the 15th pick to trade up since he wasn’t taken yet. I got him. He broke most single season wr records. 27 tds, 2000+ yards. I think his receptions fell a little short of the record.
So, of course, I go 16-0. I’m looking forward to just airing this guy out in the SB and see what I can do. Nope. First playoff game, he dislocated his shoulder, I believe. Can’t remember the exact injury, but he’d be out for the SB. I nearly cried. Lol.
But, I let it stand. I didn’t start over or anything. He missed his first possible SB after having the most ridiculous rookie season since Randy Moss, and of course, it was actually better than Moss.
For me, that actually brings some immersion into the game. Ea didn’t manufacture that immersion, but legit, I feel sorry for that digital wr not being able to play. Lol. And, seeing as how M20 is out, he’ll never get to play in the SB, now! Lol.

I tested this last night and it does work. That is exciting at least; there's a reset button that I can use at my discretion if injuries get out of hand."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

If you hit the accuracy meter in the middle of the bar, can the cpu still block kicks? I thought it was only when you were off the mark.
I haven't had a missed FG in year one after 11 games (yet).
