I very much prefer the current system to the previous and actually prefer last years more than this years. I loved last year the importance that was placed on scheme fits and the boost to non-performance XP it provided. I also missed the DEV trait regression and think the absence of that this year was a bad move. I'm pretty firmly against performance and stats driving progression and don't want to ever go back to the days of players getting 30K XP for winning awards and making pro bowls or the ability to upgrade any attribute at will.

98% agree. The only thing i liked better in the old system is you could select the scheme for each position. As a head football coach i should be able to run my own scheme.

The other sports games (2K, The Show, maybe even NHL?) do it best where you can train players to focus on specific sets of attributes but they progress on their own. Coaches influence progression but they arent the sole reason for it.

I agree 100% with the others that say its practice > progression > performance, and not performance > progression.

The system that they implemented in M19 and they have in M20 is the best progression system to date in my opinion.

Definitely not. That system was awful. This one isn't perfect, but it's wayyyyyyy better than that trash. People could max out every single stat if they wanted so every online league had tons of guys with 99 speed, agility, accel.
