Me too. I was hoping with the more powerful CPU, that we see new physics engine and overhauled AI..

I'm still going to hold out judgement on next gen until they reveal more info. Way how it's going now they might not reveal next gen info until after current gen comes out

Not sure what they have in mind for additions to franchise mode this late in the game. Maybe more so on the next gen. But they did add Fantasy Draft to Franchise mode after the release a bunch of years ago. So maybe they can.

Though it would be ironic (if that is right word). Whole year of time to add new things, we get a few patch notes. 2 months before realese we get something. that would be quite interesting and just show how much they could do to that mode if they actually put the time in

This is why I said it was a potential lose-lose for EA. Either they can't really add anything in and M21's franchise is a joke with the lack of updates. Or they actually add some significant items in a short span and we're left in a spot where we wonder why if they can add these items in a short time frame we continuously get shafted with so little updates to the mode year after year.

Only way for them to win is for them to actually commit towards making franchise a staple of the game for multiple releases moving forward. Anything else and they are going to come off as liars and lose even more credibility.

Not necessarily. The THREAT of low sales can be a motivator, too. If they feel like they might lose a bunch of customers, they'll change things with the quickness.

Very true. We sometime forget that they are a publicly traded company. Out of fear of low sales investors could dump stock taking money out of the company. Now you have stock dumps and lower projected sales, two things a business does not want to happen.

I know EA has not done anything to keep our trust in them, but we are stuck in this relationship with them. He have to hold them accountable for their actions. We can call Madden 21 a wash but hold out hope that Madden 22 will be a step in the right direction. If not then we are all back in this same boat next summer.
Relax, it's just a video game!

I'm a bit sceptical of this announcement. It came a few hours before the beta was available to download and divert attention from #FixMaddenFranchise. The timing here is important. We've had promises before but then been given excuses.

mmm, I have a statement in my signature on how I feel.

I guess I'm glad they acknowledged the Twitter storm.

I'll quote from my favorite music group:

Show me, don't tell me, I've heard it all before.

Low expectations in less than 2 months, very low.

& if the people that still buy this game STILLS gives them PLENTY OF MONEY in MICROTRANSACTIONS without the franchise buyers ? Franchise goes bye bye PERMANENTLY as the MICROTRANSACTIONS will make up for any loss of sales & THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE COUNTING ON. It is either OVER ALL LOW SALES OR SAY BYE BYE

Please everyone, don't be too easily swayed by a simple response from anyone. It's certainly possible that some improvements to the Franchise Mode can be made post-launch, but I view this response as a catch-all to the furious storm EA is witnessing right now.

Talk is cheap. It always has been. Therefore, until there is hard evidence that changes and improvements have, in fact, been added as supplemental elements to Madden 21, they still saved me $60.

Again everyone, don't buy into any misdirected claims. Wait patiently and keep the storm active.

That's not true though. Bad publicity can be worse than low sales especially with the NFLs reputation tied to the product. Look at what Fed Ex and Nike just did to the Redskins.

I remember on the old PS2 maddens I could simulate a season in like a minute while seeing every game for every team on the schedule while I did it.

Then the 360 games took a lot longer to simulate with all the loading & what not, & this gen of consoles is unbearable to sim through. You can't see anything!
Ditto that ..you used to be able to bring up a game and move the controller to the middle and watch also...no more

I have dug through all of the binary files for CFM, these list of things that could EASILY be added within the current system CFM for sure by first patch and most of it by launch.

                                ROSTER MANAGEMENT
Increased the minimum overall for all positions and tighten the grading system to encourage teams to upgrade the position. Turn the damn player roles back on for QBs so young guys stop getting replaced so fast, shouldnt have to increase Daniel Jones ratings to stop this. Increase the player value of older guys, no reason someone should be ignored because he is old but still has an 85 overall. Increase the offseason bidding by CPU. Also DISABLE showing the user the bid % a player is getting from other teams. Turn up the cap casualties settings for all positions. Increase the active minimum position requirement for CPU so they stop going in to games with 1 healthy HB. Increase trade frequency and team aggressiveness.

                                PROGRESSION/REGRESSION/PRODUCTION SYSTEM
Remove XP/scenario non sense and go with RANDOM dice-roll progression based off dev trait that can vary every time u start a new CFM (the tdawg system). The progression is run the VERY first week of preseason and thats it. That way it seems like guy got better over the offseason. Give a player a hidden max overall rating with the dice roll and he has 5 years to reach it. Find a way to turn the training system to speed up the process for a player. So rookie QB with normal dev trait is a 73 overall, he gets rice roll of 81 max rating. He gets ALL of that at start of 2nd year but basically peaks. Another rookie QB is a 73 overall but has a 95 max rating and slow reaches it by his 5th year. To compound on the new progression you then turn conf/morale in to a production rating. Revamping this leads to lower/higher overall and dev trait increases based off statistical performance. With a min/max rating gain of 9 points either way depending on how great/poor season you have. So the helps with guys who have peaked at max overall rating. A reroll is done at the start of offseason week 1 that looks for dev trait increases, which would then give a max overall rating boost to player who upgraded his dev trait heading in to the next progression. Lastly, revamp how regression works, instead of a steep hill decline make it a peak age drop-off. Use the new production system to help offset the effect of a player declining. Obviously dev trait will slow down how much a guy decreases.

                                DRAFT/SCOUTING
This is the one that sucks because you cant do much without stripping everything and rebuilding it. So for starters create a section purely for drafting database like you did for xfactors. Put the storylines/tweets/scouting/big board all in one spot and never have it disappear. Revamp the weighted system so that the ratings for the archetypes is more inline with the base roster to keep the balance in tact for suture seasons. Also add in a few anomalies for archetypes that allows for a speedy possession WR or a powerback on the verge of being an elusive type. Stop pigeon holing and limiting the variety of guys. Also tone down the amount of xfactor/superstar to keep the balance for future seasons as well.

                                RANDOM
-Historical stat tracking, previous team history in player stat column

Yes there is plenty of more I WANT, but this is bare minimum that can actually be done in the next 6-12 weeks.
