I'd be a big fan of that. They've stepped towards that with the different accuracy ratings, but that would be an additional layer that would bring about more player differentiation without the need for cheesy and unrealistic abilities.

NCAA Sim engine within franchise mode.Have it so we can see college stats/awards/injuries during the season.Think the depth you could add withing franchise with a feature like that is limitless. You could have better stories/history of players, better scouting system, reason why players are projected where they are in draft,if they add a better injs/tear system players would have a history of them from college,if a coaching tree ever got in could have college coaches to hire along with the nfl ones and so much more.

Man this post got me psyched and I bought a copy of NCAA 13 on ebay. Really pumped for it. Thanks for the inspiration!

There was a feature in madden 2006, the one with ray lewis, i believe and the feature was kind of like super sim, except you could choose plays, but you’d get a text result. Really miss this. Even way back then it worked without kinks. Don’t think it was in many Maddens, maybe just 2006. It kind of got lost when we switched gears to ps3 and 360. You could make substitutions and all. It was just like a real game except you got text instead of gameplay.

            Not unconventional but a throwback.

The shaking controller from NCAA Football and squiggly lines when trying to call a play on the road. Maybe tie it into QB and WR’s IQ or some sort of “Rattle” rating.

There has to be some differentiation when playing home vs playing on the road in a hostile environment.

Along those same lines, add back the defensive players’ ability to pump up the crowd.

It’s a shame when past features are now considered unconventional.

I know madden has the awareness and play recognition ratings but they need to make the game feel more life like in regards to having rookies start or even people coming over from new teams in the offseason.

I draft a rookie QB after Brady retires, he’s not going out there with half the plays I’m calling for Brady. Maybe this kid played at Duke and isn’t used to playing in Seattle where the 12th man has the place jumping.

I bring in a WR who wasn’t asked to run option routes with his former team, this leads to the wr and qb taking some time to get on the same page.

Real life football struggles need to find their way into madden for it to have any depth/replayability. Franchise mode is basically just every player playing to 100% of their ability every game in every year. Give me the veteran QB whose pissed you drafted a QB in the first instead of getting him a weapon on the outside or a RB.

Players having to learn the playbook was one of my most favorite parts of Head Coach along with the wear and tear system. I want it in Madden (and future NCAAs) so bad.

The ability to switch teams mid-game during a Franchise Mode game.

I always wanted to see real life mishaps that aren't just bugs or glitches. Like you said, I would like to see a low awareness WR(or rookie) run a wrong route once in a while. Or that WR making a terrible choice on a option Route. I would to see a QB and WR not be on the same page at times. I would like to see some of those blatantly overthrows at times be because there was a miscommunication and not just Madden forcing you to be inaccurate. Or a rookie RB forget his blitz pickup assignment.

Along with significant AI improvements, Maddens needs more life. Just feels so scripted. Each player has an assignment that they try to follow to a tee without considering what's going on mid-play. I shouldn't see CPU AI FS continue to drop back 10-15 yards when I'm running Curl Flats. I rather see big plays more of a result of Blown Coverages than because AI didn't react what was going on mid-Play

The reason we havnt/won’t get things like this is there are certain players in the community who wouldn’t like it. Basically anyone who plays any competitive game mode that isn’t franchise.

Wonder how hard it would be to program stuff like in specifically for franchise mode alone, or at least as an option within franchise mode.

Ability to realign divisions in online franchises. This feature is so overdue its ridiculous at this point. This feature would go a long way to adding parity to franchises. Every league has that one division where a guy just dominates and goes 15-1 every year. Conversely, you also have a powerful division with 3 10-12 win teams and that guy who cannot catch a break and always finishes last as a result even though he may win 6-9 games a year.

Even when I wrote it, I knew it was something the competitive crowd wouldn't be for. It's why we don't see fumbled snaps, botched snaps, Even some thing like terrible weather that affects gameplay. I would love to see heavy wind games that make it hard to pass.
Yeah, either tie it to Franchise or try to tie it to Simulation game style. Imagine you're on a comeback drive at the end of game, your low awareness rookie WR runs the wrong route and it results in you throwing a game sealing INT or you're attempting a game winning chip shot FG and you get a botched snap that results in a wide kick to lose game, that would be super frustrating but at same time realistic.

Been dreaming of stuff like this in Madden for awhile. Not sure if Phobia remembers it, if he even comes into the Madden forums anymore, but we played against each other in 2k8 and he beat me one game. It was in terrible weather, a sloppy game because the weather actually impacted the game in that game. I think the final score was like 14-9 or something ugly like that. Anyways, not once, but twice I had snaps that went through or over my punters hands due to the bad weather. One led to a score in pretty sure and the other basically sealed the game for him. It was awesome and I didn't hate it at all. Was such a cool thing to see.

Exactly. I would love to go into a game that is a 20 mph wind game and knowing I I have adjust my game plan accordingly knowing passing and attempting FGs are a last resort. Things like that add immersion.

While on that topic, I would like to see them return the Weather Channel aspect of Franchise. I would like to know the Weather of the game I'm going into and not see it change because I backed out of game and re entered it. It would be cool to know the weather of next game at start of week and be able to game plan for it. I would like to gameplan for a December snowy game against a team like Denver or Bills. That with having dynamic weather and weather that truly effects gameplay.

Being able to run off the field when you're winning and there's less than 30 seconds on the game clock.
