Maybe i’m on my own here but I think what Madden’s running game, and passing as well, needs are actual blocking assignments + gap play/responsibilities by the defense. As of now the OL runs around almost blindly and just blocks (or ignores) whoever is in front of them. If the game had true assignments/responsibilities and checks then it would play more like football. But idk maybe that’s off track, if so my bad

Re: Madden's Running Game NEEDS To Have This Feature!
The Sprint mechanic still breaks part of Madden gameplay. When you sprint, the defense still gets a huge boost to block sheds. It's trying to simulate waiting for a hole to open up by a running back i guess. But on kick and punt returns you get a lpt more yardage not hitting sprint until later in the return because there's less auto sheds. I would like to see a mechanic where you have the option to go faster that doesn't break other parts of the game. Button mashing is never fun though (at least turbo buttons are a relic of the past) I liked the auto accelerate that was in the game. A "burst" mechanic would be a neat addition. You would have a button where you get a big burst of that lasts only a second or two. You would use it running through a hole as a running back or after making a catch. But you can only use it once per player per play.
As an aside if a player has 99 speed, does he have to use sprint to reach it? O

Atleast they got rid of tackle battles. I’d rather almost anything than that.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Madden's Running Game NEEDS To Have This Feature!
Over the past year or so I've witnessed a strong push back against any control mechanics involving button mashing. For example, people with hand injuries, nerve damage, or arthritis can experience major difficulties playing games which require repeated fast button presses.
To that end, I'm not holding my breath for tap-to-sprint to show up in a game with as much widespread popularity as Madden. Madden already has enough hurdles for players with motor skill disabilities to clear to even get on the field.
No tapping buttons because "people with hand injuries, nerve damage, or arthritis are gonna have a tough time"
I cant even handle where our world has gone lolComment
