still cannot get sacks in Madden 20 as a RE career

I have gotten to the point no where my RE will instashed a block and be in the back field the second that the play starts. So you think that would translate to breaking the sack record in a season? WRONG. The QB's are so trigger happy and throw the ball the second I shed the block. When they don't, they drift away from me and right into my teammate who proceeds to get the sack while still engaged in a block. I am so frustrated at this game right now, as I feel that I should be earning so many more sacks, but I feel like every single one of them have been stolen from me. Half way through my third season and still no sacks at all. Is there any solution to this or am I out of luck?

I don't see what the problem is? The QB is moving away from an immediate threat or throwing it quickly. If your team is still getting sacks isn't that still a win? I also have a hard time believing you haven't gotten a single one. Maybe try and gameplan your guy into one on one matchup by shifting your line forcing the other guys into double teams. If stats are all you're after just bump the difficulty to rookie and rack em up.

It just frustrates me because, yes, a win is a win, but I kinda wanna make the hall of fame. I bumped it down to rookie and it just resulted in the other DE getting 4 sacks. I don't understand how other people have so much success.

Go to the skills trainer in the main menu. Or go to practice mode. Learn how to use the pass rush mechanics. I don't have any trouble at all getting sacks. What defense are you using? What's your position?

I'm in a base 4-3, and I'm playing RE in a career mode. My problem isn't shedding the blocks, my problem is that the QB will drift into the LE every time. I was looking around and apparently this has been a problem for over a decade.

If you're coming free first off the line then it would make sense for the QB to run away from you. You're the immediate threat. But qbs do have more of a tendency to scramble left but i think that's because I user the RE or ROLB and get free sooner. You could call contain blitzes the other side will rush slower and take wider angles since they wanna contain the QB in the pocket instead of rushing in to get a quick sack. The only issue is that pressure will get there more slowly but it could open up more sack opportunities for you if all you want are the stats. Or you could play an OLB in a 3-4 system and be able to be more involved in not only pass rushing but also be able to make tackles and drop into coverage some. You'll have more opportunities to make plays on defense instead of just pass rushing exclusively.

I wanted to apologize for sounding like an ******* in some of my posts. It gets frustrating for me sometimes. I did put together some good games recently though. I looked through my sliders and found that the cpu pass blocking was set to 0 which I assume was causing me a lot of problems. I set that back to default. I no longer insta shed blocks, but it's allowing me to get sacks now instead of my teammates insta shedding. I've eased off the pass rush a little bit as well, to make sure the QB doesn't get the trigger happy trait. (That's what it's called in Madden 25, I'm assuming it's still in the game today lol).

Traits I believe no longer change based on game performance. I think traits are static now. I could be wrong though.

offline coach player here, Nick Bosa has 1 sack after 13 games. Armstead has 6, MLB/OLBers have more than both. play with multiple fronts, overloads etc. last year he got 10 in his first season as a rookie in my m20 franhcise with lover numbers. my play calling style/playbook hasnt changed for dline.

For some reason in Madden the AI fears a User-controlled rusher more than an AI rusher on the user team. If I want a certain guy to get sacks the best option is usually controlling a different player and hitting a gap on the opposite side of the line as the guy I want to get the sack. So if you're trying to boost the numbers of your RE, I would bring a user-controlled blitz as an LB between the DT & LE. That will shift the AI attention to your side and should free up your RE.

I will say that pass rushing in M21 is lightyears better than M20 so if that's your thing you should definitely try out the new game. It's the most fun I've ever had rushing the QB.

Sadly, I'm doing a player career, so I only control the RE. I will definitely be getting Madden 21 for the pass rushing, despite franchise being the same for the most part. Will probably be in about 2 months. I typically get the new Madden games mid way through the season.
